My dog doesn't have an attitude after all!!!
After reading this highly informative book, I realize that my dog does not have an attitude as I first suspected.I just had to learn how to understand her better.This book is great for anyone who is even thinking about getting a dog or a puppy.After reading it, they will know for sure whether or not a dog or puppy is the correct pet for them.If you are having problems with your pet, this book gives step by step instructions to help you in almost any situation.If you love your dog, you should read this book!!!

Excellent for new riders
This is a great book for first learning about horses, how to care for them, feeding, symptoms of illnesses, and it's simple to read and understand. It gives the basics for people who might want to own a horse for the first time so that you can know what to watch out for and take the best care of your horse. I'd recommend this book for first time horse owners, and for people working with horses for the first time. It's comprehensive and gives you a lot of great info.

This horse book was awesome! I will be taking riding lessons this summer and this book helped me get a head start on horse care, like grooming, feed, tack and much,much more! It's a great book for any horse lover even if you don't have or ride a horse. This book makes it a fun, simple way to learn about how to take care of a horse! Something For Everyone And Every Dog
There are some good ideas in here to make your dog happy.Although, if you are a true dog lover, you probably have already implemented many of these suggestions.The only one I disagree with is howling with your dog in the back yard.That might not make your neighbors happy.The pictures of the dogs included in this book are some of the best I've ever seen.A fun book for dog lovers of every breed.

My Review
As soon as I read this book, I just fell in love it! I've had plans for the past (well, actually since I was 2, but no official plans) year to get a dog, but I've been trying to find a traning book that I actualy agree with. Almost every other one I've ever read (or I should say STARTED to read) I've put down in frustration because I just didn't agree with what they did.

Breeding Dogs For Dummies
Great starter book. Picked up a few pointers that helped me understand the next book which was definitely NOT a primer. Plus this book was easy to bookmark for future reference. Would recommend this title to anyone who is just getting started and also has a mentor to refer to.

Best Retriever Traning Book Ever Written
I found out about this book in 1991 shortly after I had gotten a Lab puppy that I wanted to train to be a working dog.
Throw out all your other retriever training books!
This book is absolutely fantastic. After reading numerous other training books and still having difficulty with my young dog I stumbled onto this book by accident. Spencer covers every aspect of training the puppy right through to advanced blinds and marks. His style of writing is very clear and his use of anecdotes helps to illustrate the real life ramifications of various techniques. Until I read this book I had great difficulty training consistent blind retrieves. Spencer's explanation of the correct use of conditioning flags has made it so much easier. I have read this book at least ten times and learn something new every time. I can't recommend it enough.

Very helpful in avoiding the vet
This is a good do it yourself book.My dog has separation anxiety and I found this very helpful.I'll keep it handy for other problems as they are encountered.

Life Saver!
I have been working with the Bach flower and other homeopathic remedies for as long as I am able to remember. Like other reviewers have said, I have had to try to modify treatments from the books for humans to animals. Most of the time it was ok, but not always. This book has been wonderful.
Great Book
I have used Bach Flower remedies on myself with great success, so I became interested in trying them on our cat.She is a very nervous animal and spends lots of time just hiding.I read this book cover to cover and it gave me some ideas for how to treat her.She is definitely better since I began adding a drop or two of a remedy to her drinking water.

Love it or hate it
There are many different ways that humans approach horses. You will either love or hate this book, depending on how you relate to horses. I found Tao of Equus absolutely fascinating, because it articulates better than any other book an aspect of the horse world that I have long felt, but could not find words for myself. I admire the author's courage.But if you want a how-to kind of book, read something else.

it was GREAT!
had this book been smaller, it would have been perfect! or had more photos.... i used it as a reference while i was working on my horse and it was kind of hard to manage both the massage and the reading at the same time;)

best book I have found in a decade
Having been an equine bodywork practioner in So. Cal for over a decade, I have looked at many massage books.This book is by far the most comprehensive as far as anatomy and function of the horse.One word of caution, be careful when performing the stretches he demonstrates in the book, not always the best human biomechanics are used!

This is an excellent book on equine massage. It covers anatomy in sufficient details and is well illustrated. The different moves are well explained and supported with clear pictures. I found the information on hydrotherapy, kinesiology, conformation and stretching surprisingly interesting. It gives you an overall view of the horse and it makes the book so much more useful.Read more

Clear, Concise and Intelligent
I found this book extremely useful in training dogs.The emphasis is on understanding dog behavior so that you can effectively communicate with them.I have seen vast improvements in the dogs I have employed her technique on and I highly recommend this book!

Sophia Yin has one of the best approaches I have read to explaininghow dog's learn and then applying this to effective, humane training techniques. She not only explains "how to" but "how come." I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has invited a dog to become part of the family.

"How to Behave" is packed with useful information on everything from how dogs learn to reading a dog's expression to what you can do if your dog barks too much. The material is presented in a style that is easy to understand and use to successfully train your dog. The exercises were very effective and easy to follow. Illustrations in the book are often funny and aid in conveying the large amount of information. I found the secton on reading and understanding a dog's posture and body signals especially valuable not only for my own dog but also when I meet unfamiliar ones. Superb
Impossible that present day horses would beat any horse trained by Preston Burch.Just read the exercise prescriptions in this book and be blown away.I certainly was.Here is carefully controlled training by a trainer understanding that his horses are participating in an athletic event.This is a book about conditioning equine athletes and also contains every other aspect of training and caring for thoroughbred race horses in a well written book by an individual who apparently understood the great care required.I held off reading this fearing it was dated, but what a pleasant surprise to find the extreme if succinct comprehensiveness here, every aspect is covered by a fellow who tried to do everything correctly.This is Ivers before Ivers, and one does wonder whatever happened to trainers like Max Hirsch and Preston Burch.

Remarkable
I have read alot of reviews before ordering this book and i am very much a noob when it comes to iguanas and this book gave me such much information. Alot of pet books give you the basic stuff but over 600 pages is insane. When the book arrived i couldnt belive the size of it. I think my favorite part of this whole book is the detailed chapter on an amazing looking habitat you can create. I have searched online for hours trying to find blueprints of a good habitat and this one is by far one of the best. Great book i recommend it. Its much cheaper here then in any store

I would like to thank the author for the knowledge I gained by reading this book, "Green Iguana: The Ultimate Owner's Manual". To this day, I have not found anyone who has even come close to coming out with a book with as much attention to detail or even the amount of time and research that was put into this book. This is a "must read" for all iguana owners!

A Must Read
Anyone who spends time with horses owes it to themselves and the horses to read this book.

Sends a good message
An enjoyable read, well written, easy to understand.I have always questioned the integrity and motivation of the many clinicians out there who have invented and marketed a new mouse trap. He is right on the money when he discusses folks who get so hung up on minor technique that they lose sight of where they are trying to get.The author presents a common sense and deep thinking approach to horsemanship based on experiences learned and observed.Having started hundreds of colts myself, Marks insights into the nature of horses have added to my understanding of them and helped me to become a better horseman...something we should all strive to be regardless of experience or expertise. If you read the whole book and don't learn something worthwhile you aren't trying.

Great read,great philosophy!
This book is a fantastic read, I read it from cover to cover in one sitting.It also presents a great philosophy to training and working with horses.Mark Rashid describes how to be a leader that your horse not only respects, but likes and wants to be with.He also gives great examples of how to overcome resistance issues without any form of force.His approach comes from Aikido which is a martial art in which you use your opponents energy to overcome resistance.I loved this book and want to read all Rashids other books now. ... Great book, just what I was looking for.
This book has a great array of shelters.I was looking for a couple types of shelters... chicken coop and horse run-ins and found ideas to match just what I needed for both!

The plans included didn't meet my needs
I was hoping for a book of plans that included small, simple to build shelters for just a few goats and chickens.The plans included were large and the building instructions were not detailed enough for beginners to do themselves (without a seperate how-to-book).If I could have looked through it first, I would not have bought it.
