5-0 out of 5 stars Impressive customer service !
I e-mailed the publisher to ask for an update of a celebrity address. He was fast with an answer. He also mentioned he has started a new service to autograph collectors. He will answer any question on the subject of autoghaph collecting for FREE!
5-0 out of 5 stars Here's The List of Celebrity Autographs
I have known David Moore for many years and he is the only author of celebrity directories that uses and updates his address list on daily basis. For me, here is a list of celebrities who I have contacted and received autographs through the mail. They are: Sarah Jessica Parker, Bill Gates, Roy Clark, Gillian Anderson, Nicholas Cage, Bill Cosby, James Garner, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Gary Trudeau, Olivia Newton-John, Brandi Chastain, James Watson, Sandra Day O'Connor, Harmon Killebrew, George Bush, Betty Ford, Jimmy Carter, Leann Rhimes, Muhammad Ali, Angela Landsbury, Reba McEntire, Jay Leno, Faith Hill, Tommy John, Tom Hanks, Michael Eisner, Nolan Ryan, Tony Bennet, Colin Powell, Robert Duvall, John Mellencamp, Whoopi Goldberg and many others. If you want excellent results and great customer service, I highly recommend David Moore's book.

5-0 out of 5 stars This Author is an Expert

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful people in a beautiful book
When I first saw this book the first thing that came into my mind was that I need it badly. I was simply astonished by the amazing pictures Leni Riefenstahl composed. If someone wants to see the beginning of our civilization and feel it up, close and personal, then this book is a must. Other than having a picture about how man survives in harmony with Mother Nature, one can see how beautiful the human body is in itself.

5-0 out of 5 stars A STUNNING PHOTO JOURNAL OF AFRICA
Leni Riefenstahl's book Africa is simply a huge compilation, a massive photo journal; page after page after page of full sized photographs depicting both the people / their culture and the land of Africa. (Other than the photos, the book is quite spare of words, chapter titles, that's it.)Riefenstahl's work is very strong but not particularly arty or glossy. True to her filmmaker's voice however, every picture tells a story. (*An important side note, it's ALL photographs. There is very little text to critique.)

5-0 out of 5 stars What a book!!
I must say I'm quite overwhelmed by all the people listed in this book. It's got almost everyone you know of and more! I'm very impressed. The only thing that I think is "wrong" with this book is that they haven't written the title of everyone, so on some people you don't know who they are, but it's not that many. I was very very surprised to find David Mark Chapman's address (prison) in there. Of course it didn't say what he is, although pretty much everyone knows anyway. It seems that some of the addresses are to people's homes. You've got addresses to musicians, politicians, journalists, actors, athletes, writers, Nobel prize winners, doctors, anyone you can think of in the whole world!! It's a treasure! On the website they've got about 10.000 more addresses (I wonder why they didn't put them all in the book??) This is really the ultimate Celebrity Address book I've ever seen. Buy it!

3-0 out of 5 stars Addresses for ALMOST everyone
This book's front cover boasts "over 40,000 celebrity addresses, everyone who is anyone." That's not quite accurate. I've discovered a number of people who were omitted or just plain forgotten. That aside, the book does include addresses for most mainstream celebs, musicians and athletes and presents them in a straightforward, alphabetical listing.
2-0 out of 5 stars The Few, the Proud, the Living Dead
If you are looking for movie stars, this might be a great book.I bought this book (the 2005 edition) primarily to locate artists (e.g., photographers, painters, sculptors). The book is basically useless in this regard.Proportionately speaking, there are extremely few listings of those types of artists.Ironically, even well-known, i.e., "celebrity" artists are omitted, as are lesser known but important ones. The few listed are seemingly random, including comic strip "artists."Worse, several of those listed are either very old (no longer working) or dead.I wonder if the addresses given are for cemeteries?Actually, the addresses for the few artists of interest to me were most often wrong based upon a simple cross reference search on the web.Of course, that also makes me question the accuracy of the other listings. This seems a useful resource for those interested in actors, random athletes and opera singers, but for any other interest--it simply needs to be updated. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars The Andirondack Camps & Mansions of Bygone Days.
In the late 19th century, the wealthy men who wanted to impress poured some of their money into large mansions like Biltmore Estate in Asheville, N.C., only in New York they opted for the "Adirondack style" with a rustic flavor.Floor plans for the cabins are included in this picture book complete with the history of this area.Later they were turned into camps for rich kids. Some of these camps such as Santanoni were operating for one hundred years, from 1850 to 1950.Only a few survive today.
4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty, Terrific Photos, but a Little Bland Here and There
I mostly buy more practical Adk books, but I thought it would be nice to have something more glossy ... a coffee-table type book for fun. I have to give the author major praise for including a great variety of camps/cabins, all the way from big, million-dollar homes down to tiny one-roomers. (There is even a section called "Small Gems," which is what I want to build, so I was very happy.) It is, I should also say, a beautiful book. Fabulous photos. I got lots of ideas aboutauthentic Adk architectural touches, types of siding, interior ideas, etc. And I really appreciated that I didn't feel "outclassed," that it wasn't a book full of mansions. The text is pretty random, but all the same, I'm glad I bought it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Lots of Adirondack history but- - -
I feel that Robin Obomsawin did a much better job with her previous books by adding alot more pictures of the insides of the homes she wrote about. I was sadly disappointed that there were not more pictures of Adirondack homes. I have been very happy with her other books because of the beautiful pictures taken on the interiors, but this book waslacking in pictures of just that- interiors. I really looked forward to this book being released and bought it "sight unseen" and was deeply let down that inside the book, it lacked more pictures of cozy cabin retreats, showcasing all the rooms and decorating where I get my inspirations and ideas from. The author was very clear and informative on the adirondack history though and the building materials used on these types of houses. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Congratulations on Review in Autograph Collector Magazine
I received my copy of the January issue of Autograph Collector Magazine and read the review on "The Address Directory & Autograph Collector's Guide" (which I own and use a lot). It received rave reviews as "refreshing, rich in data and this book will keep autograph collectors busy for a long time." Since I have used this book I have been getting better than average responses.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Customer Service
I live in a small town in North Dakota and writing to celebrities isthe only way I have to contact them. I have used the "The Celebrity Address Directory" and I am getting fantastic results. I had a couple of return to sender and used the satisfaction guarantee form in the back of the book. I got answers to my requests right away. I contacted the publisher by e-mail and the publisher had the new addresses within minutes! I will stay with this book forever, it is the only one I will ever need.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Birthday List of Celebrities
I like the way this book gives background information on celebrities. I can always use some useful facts about celebrities when I write to them. I use the celebrity birthday list a lot. It is a good way to break the ice in writing to a celebrity. I usually write to all the celebrities that have the same birthday as me. Other times I just write to the celebrity wishing them a happy birthday. I have had good success this way. Some of the celebrities that have replied to me are Mohammed Ali, Bill Gates, Bill Clinton and Ron Howard. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Their best price guide yet
Sanders are THE experts in autograph pricing and have been for years, this edition had chapters on matting and framing your collection, with web sites to get tools and materials, also a chapter on internet auctions andwatching out for forgeries which are prolific on the web.If you collectautographs, this book is a must!

1-0 out of 5 stars Disapointed in the lack of information
I waited a long time for this new edition to come out and it is a whopping 700 pages but, it spends half of its content lamenting the loss of the original author who died last year and reprinting articles I have fromearlier editions. The names were updated abit but the prices still seeminacurate. A disapointing end to a once prolific career for the author. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars THANKS!
This book is exactly what I've been looking for!!?It lists the values of names I couldn't find anywhere else,as well as displaying informative data on collecting!!

2-0 out of 5 stars DISAPPOINTED!
This book was a huge disappointment.Sure, it lists prices for thousands of autographs, but the "facsimiles" section is a joke.I highly doubt anyone is losing sleep wondering if their "Peggy Moran", "Bill Withers" or "Marjorie Ann Kent" (who?) signatures are authentic or not, yet space is wasted with these names, while more famous, more collectable ones (Garland, Astaire, etc.) are left out.And to top it off, some of these examples are captioned with glaring typos:"Michael Cain", instead of "Caine", "Kristy MacNichols", instead of "MacNichol".And this guy's an expert?

4-0 out of 5 stars Great book for celebrity autograph collectors.
The book is great in showing the values of many famous people's autographs of pictures, letters, or just signatures on index cards. The only downfall of the book is that it doesn't have any sports athletes listed in the book. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Famous for massive public art projects, including "Wrapped Coast, One Million Square Feet" in Australia and "Running Fence" in Northern California, Christo Javacheff and his wife Jeanne-Claude were used to dealing with intransigent bureaucracies. But they hadn't reckoned with New York City. The couple's 1979 project--temporarily placing thousands of saffron-colored banners across the walkways of 843-acre Central Park--did not receive the city's blessing until 2003. Published in advance of the 16-day installation in February 2005, Read more

Excellent collection of images of his most interesting completed works; Valley Curtain, Surrounded Islands, Running Fence, Umbrellas and the Gates. Also, some images from the upcoming Over the River project.Images are printed full size on large heavy stock and are suitable for framing.A brief project description is on the back of each sheet.Strongly recommended for any fan of Christo's work.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Gates of Heaven
The images in this book are all that remain of Christo and Jeanne-Claude's Central Park outdoor art exhibit, The Gates, a massive, stunning and unforgettable project that was dismantled forever on Sunday, February 27, 2005, after a two-week run. This photographic chronicle is interspersed with prototype drawings and designs as well as reflections of the artists as they brought their project to life. Through "The Gates'" the couple created an artistic representation of two of our oldest cultural and religious totems: the myth of Hades and Persephone and that of Moses and the Burning Bush.

love the book, love the service, love the convenience. It is an invaluable resource for anyone that might be the least bit interested in purchasing autographs.

5-0 out of 5 stars It is about time
There are no more precious artifacts in human history then the primary sources dealing in the written word. Historic letters, manuscripts and documents are the cornerstones of civilization and the best "collectible" investment on the market. For all too long the "Autograph" Ephemera field has lacked a true and consistant indicator of signed letters, manuscripts and documents value until this new issue of Sanders Price Guide. When a client calls me and asks what the value is of an autographed document I now refer them to this Price Guide - Period. Hats to Richard Saffro, Jim Smith and the Price Guide Researchers.

This book was a delight to read and will be a great reference in the future. The authors did a thorough, scholarly research effort and it shows in the quality of the information in the book. Though the focus is onautographs, I felt the background on the players and other history wasworth the price of the book alone. A must for autograph collectors and ofgreat value to anyone interested in the Negro Leagues of American baseballhistory. Congrats to the authors on an outstanding job!

5-0 out of 5 stars A must in any collectors reference book library
The book not only gives you a run down of the players career and their history but shares with the reader the variations in the signature that transpired from playing days to reunion times. Gives a scarcity report onthe autograph besides the price range value. Superb reading!! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Waste of time and money
I purchased this book expecting to get a complete listing of values for autographs of celebrities and athletes. What I got was nothing more than a reproduction of the listings that Beckett includes in its monthly publications. With the exception of about 200 prices for celebrityautographs (which is a far cry from the thousands you would find in otherpublications), this book has nothing that you can't get in a monthly issueof Beckett. It may have a few nice pictures, but that does not make up forits lack of content. And the prices are obscene! Is a Dean Cain sig worthmore than Willie Mays?Or for that matter is Dean Cain worth more thanJack Nicholson? Where do they get their information? They spend way toomuch time listing prices for autograph inserts manufactured by cardcompanies, and not enough time listing prices for REAL autographs obtainedby collecters. Can I get my twenty-five bucks back?

3-0 out of 5 stars Not a review, but info from a reader
I am not being critical when I say, in retrospect I would not have purchased this book. The general info listed above doesn't really tell what you what you're buying, so I'll try to give you a bit more info here. Don't expect to learn a price estimate for your John Wayne photo here. There are about 500 Hollywood celebrity names and price estimates, but theyare all living performers. The baseball section is better. There's anactive player section as well as a lengthy retired section, includingdeceased players -- with price estimates.NO signature samples of thecelebrities are included.About 150 baseball players (past and present)signature samples are included. There are football, basketball hockeyboxing and other sports sections which are similar to the baseball section. There's also a lot about trading cards, but I'm no expert on how good thatis.I'm not saying how good or bad this book is. I just want to help youknow what you're buying. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of Fun
I am really enjoying this book - it's a lot of fun to have the chance to write to my favorite sports personalities. It's nicely organized in alphabetical order and makes for an interesting guide.Nicely done!

5-0 out of 5 stars Love This Book!
I purchased this book as a beginning collector of sports autographs. In no time, I received signed photos from Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr., Richard Petty, Jeff Gordon, Joe Montana, Wayne Gretzky and Muhammad Ali.I'm still sending out a lot of requests and look forward to going to the mailbox every day!I'm really happy with the results of this book and would much rather have this guide to refer to as opposed to spending hours upon hours trying to piece this much information together myself.I think the author did a fantastic job and should be recognized for her hard work.Looking forward to future projects from this talented young lady!

1-0 out of 5 stars A Useless Guide
I bought the Sports Address book for my 14 year old son for the Holidays, and we were both greatly disppointed! I could have authored this book! 99% of the addresses are in care of teams, or in care of organizations! Anyone can find the address of a team! It must have taken this author less than 2 days to write this book! The title is deceiving! It should be titled, Sports Autographs-Care of Teams! We are trying to find a way to return this book!It was a waste of over thirty dollars. It was an insult to the true autograph collector! The author, if she had any decency, should buy this book back from us, and give it to a member of her family, as a Holiday present! ... Read more
