F&F good as always...
Clearly THE book for the beginner and intermediate collector.It gives an excellent overview of each type of note (Nationals, Silver Certs, etc.) as well brief descriptions of each note within each type.A great way to learn the history associated with the engravings on U.S. paper currency from the Civil War (1861) to the present. A must have for the Currency Collector.
This is the standard reference work on United States Currency for the collector.While the prices given are pretty much obsolete in the volatile currency market, the Friedberg Numbering system is universally used bydealers and collectors alike.If you are considering participation infloor or online auctions, you cannot tell what you are bidding on withoutthis book, as all notes will be listed by FR#.Well worth the investment!

Outstanding Guide & Catalog
This book is a must-have for the serious US currency collector, along with the Standard Catalog, 17th edition.Together they provide a great catalog and price guide for US Treasury issues.There are good sections onfractionals and Confederate currency, and decent treatment of colonials. No obsoletes or military payment certificates.The black and white photosare quite a bit larger than those in the Standard Catalog.The colorpictures in the back are a nice touch, but the printing is not the world'sgreatest -- many of the reds come out as pinks, the greens look almostfluorescent, etc.Read more

A look back to everyday things
This is the latest of Robert Opie's wonderful scrapbooks. The format is deceptively simple, each spread has a big photo devoted to one theme: food packets, teenage magazines, Barbie dolls, film posters, candy wrappers etc. You can see dozens of packets your ma kept in the kitchen cupboards or maybe that car brochure dad had back then, possibly you had one of the twnty toothpaste tubes (page 19) in your bathroom. The 1400 items pictured in this book are mostly what the rest of us would have thrown away, Opie wisely (for us) saved it all for his packaging and print museum in Gloucester, England. Nice pictures, but lacking information
This short book does a fair job of picturing the breadth of post cards: from an Austrian 1897 card to a 1990's Barbie card.There are many categories introduced, with some great pictures, but I would have appreciated more information, such as how to buy cards on EBay, or how to send cards. The "Where to buy" section has no dealers in the United States. The US post card history is sparse, particularly in dating cards; for example it doesn't include dates for divided backs(1907).Some basic definitions such as "linen" aren't presented.

Miller`s Postcards:A Collector`s Guide.
I personally found this book sketchy and superficial.Unless you are for example a general dealer who just wanted a few basic guidelines about a subject you previously knew nothing about then please avoid like the plague...
