Outstanding collection of a lost Americana art form
Any true collector will appreciate Davidson's initial edition, and followup version, "Smoker's Art".For those of us who pore over piles of stuff seaching for a winner, be it cigar labels or anything else,this book is a treasure trove of high quality art.

A superb reference of label art,clear,colorful, & detailed.
As a graphic designer this book has served me well on many projects. It is detailed with a largedisplay of labels that are well reproduced for the viewer. Memories... pressed between the pages of my mind
WOW...What can I say? This book was a trip down memory lane. Each page brought back fond memories of playing video games in my parents' basement. Sadly, I lost my Atari 2600 in a stampede. I still have most of my game cartridges though and they're still lots of fun! Mr. Ellis' book is well written and a must have for anyone who loves collecting the Atari game software of the 80's.

Get this book BEFORE you start searching eBay...
What an incredible reference guide. With the collectible video game market still in its infancy, I honestly didn't expect to see a book like this for at least another decade. Then, as I was chuckling to myself while staring at it in a bookstore, it hit me: "Holy Energizer Dots! It's a huge reference to the entire video game industry!!! So I grabbed it, absorbed it, and continue re-reading it to this day. Chock full of history, images and master lists of cartridges and consoles, this one book will both enlighten you to the scope of the video game industry as of today, and also serve as a GREAT tool when you start shopping online auction sites like eBay. I used it to buy my Atari 7800 system, and I was pleased to know I didn't pay more for it than it was worth. That would not have been possible without this book. I'd like to think of a negative thing to say about this book so readers won't think I'm biased. Ok, I wish I had a hardcover version becasue this one is going to fall apart soon from opening it up too much!

Three thousand dollars for a rare Atari cartidge? Who would have guessed that the stuff we discarded from our youth would now be part of a cottage industry consisting of collectors, auction houses, classic arcade repair shops and book writers.

Not so much nostalgia as a gentle reminder
The reason I loved the wartime scrapbook, just one of Robert Opie's beautiful books, is that it is is simply glorious to pour over.I can't imagine anyone ever tiring of the colors, the products and momentos from such a crazy yet unflashy era.The war years provided little but shortage in every way, but this book shows just how attentive product design and everyday life reflected what people sorely needed. This is more like it.. I was a little disappointed that the 'More Cowboy Movie Posters' in the same series did not feature full page copies of posters. This book has full page posters. Didn't Remember a Lot of It - Lots of British Items
I grew up during the 70's, but did not remember many of these items.I should have realized the book would be that way(mainly British) since I already own the "50's" and "60's" edition, but since the 70's was my decade, I felt I had to get it as well.Disappointed, but still enjoy perusing the pages for the patterns and colors of the 70's.

Not worth the money
I oredered this book from Amazon.com to get an idea of what my own M&M collection is worth. I chose this book, particularly, because it had the most recent published date and thought it would have the most accurate information. Boy was I disappointed! This book, although more than 100 pages, barely touched on the number of M&M items out there. I have over 100 M&M items in my collection, and maybe 5 were listed in the book. The M&M dispensers, which are a big part of collector's items was barely touched on. I would not recommend anyone waste his/her time purchasing a book that is not comprehensive enough to cover even a small collection. ... Read more

Professional Wrestling Collectibles is a keeper!
Overall, a very well researched book by Mr. Pope and Mr. Whebbe.Thisbook does not cover all wrestling collectibles, that would be impossible,however, it does give the collector a good idea of the many areas inwrestling that are out there to collect, although they do have a veryin-depth coverage of the action figures and autographs. Collectibles and Then Some
Pro Wrestling Collectibles is certainly what this book is all about.Its all the other stuff covered that makes this bookso interesting.My favorite chapter is number two (2) "Some Superstars WorthCollecting".The history about many of these wrestlers can be foundno where else.The authors did a great job in organizing this"collectible" and putting every thing into perspective. Recommended reading for all wrestling fans!

Highly recommended reading (especially for new parents), Your Baby Treasures: Time Capsule by author Janet E. Reinhold is an explorative guide to the preservation of a parents cherished baby items. In the pages of Your Baby Treasures, the reader will find why some papers crumble over time and others stay nice; what makes a photo fade and what you can do to save it; how to keep baby clothes nice for years; why you can store a lock of hair but not a piece of cake; why many things need proper enclosures when stored together; what to consider when storing electronic media.
Informative AND Enjoyable
Not only did I thoroughly enjoy reading this book, but I came away with a wealth of ideas for creating a time capsule for baby. I also found myself full of enthusiasm and confident that I now possess all of the knowledge required for successful completion of the project. I can strike out on my own in search of the correct materials to preserve my memories, now that I know exactly what I am loking for, or I can choose simply to order the materials individually or in "kit" form by using the order form in the back of the book.

"Exactly what I was looking for!"
I have looked at many many books trying to find one that would help me to easily identify Barbie.Well folks, this is it!The pictures are wonderful, brightly colored and large enough to see detail.This is a "Must Have" book if you are a collector. (or if you buy used dolls to make up an OOAK) Well worth the money spent.I highly recommend!

Wonderful Encyclopedia for Barbie collectors!
This book is the most wonderful Encyclopedia about Barbie dolls. It has so many dolls listed with descriptions, prices and pics of the dolls in their boxes. Many pink boxes, OOAK Mattel dolls and collectibles. Pictures are nice, they are from the doll in box, and there are closes on some dolls. Good Book

Only read once...
This book provides some basic information about several action figure lines.On the plus side, this book does provide some information and pictures on a few lines that may be hard to find elsewhere (i.e., Big Jim and The Six Million Dollar Man).On the minus side, there is no mention ofStar Wars figures, and very little about Mego figures.Further, most of the information that is presented is easily found elsewhere.In short, there are much better books out there about both action figures in general (one of my favorites being "Tomart's Encyclopedia of Action Figures: The 1001 Most Popular Collectibles of All Time"), and about specific action figure lines (i.e., just Star Wars, just GI Joe, just Mego, just Captain Action, etc.).To be fair, I did enjoy going through this book once, I just haven't found a need to open it again since.

Timless Creations- A Timeless Book
This book by Margo Rana is fun and informative. The pictures are very detailed, bright and well done, making the reader feel like they own each doll. I got my book over a year ago for $25. I missed out on this great deal, but I hope that others won't. Margo Rana really explains the dolls in full detail, but they are in her own words. She marks pricing well, so when you go to a doll show or are shopping for dolls, you know what is a good deal and what isn't. When Margo talked about the Pink Splendor doll, the last doll she talked about, she commented to the reader about the $900 listing price on the doll. She said, "Be kind when judging this doll; it's not her fault she is so expensive." This book is extremely fun to look at. I seem to find something new and special about each doll every time I read it. I hope that you will buy this book and enjoy as much as I did. Unparalleled!
