Very Nice
While I would like to see more real pics, the drawings do a fine job of identifying the various pumps.Think the glossary could be expanded to include more terms. All in all, I am glad to have the book in my library.

An Ilustrated Guide to Gas Pumps
We were very disappointed with the book.We were hoping it would have pictures of old gas pumps and how they should be painted.All it shows is old gas pumps but most are black and white and seem to be drawings instead of actual pictures.

An Absolute Must-Have for Every Francie Fan!
This book is as close to being perfect as any can get in the Barbie world.Not only is it informative and well-written, it's fun too! FABulous!

Not Bad, could used some prototypes in it.
The book was great, just think that it would have been better if there had been some of the Prototype out-fits in it. I wanted the book to see the out-fits that Francie had. "What would Hollywood be without desire and greed?"
As a noir fan, I'm ready to read anything from Eddie Muller. He's so obviously an expert on the subject--but more than that he's also an aficionado, and it shows in "The Art of Noir: The Posters and Graphics From the Classic Era of Film Noir." In the introduction, Muller notes that film noir posters have become a hot commodity for collectors recently, and that every poster "flaunts luscious spoils; at the same time warning of the dangers awaiting anyone who tried to possess them." The Disney Treasures
This book is a timeless classic, an absolute gem. For anyone wishing to get a real glimpse into the magic that is Disney this is the book.It offers historical insight and hands on replica memorabilia. I found this book full of information and fun.Beautifully presented.

A Fabulous Treasure of Disney!
This book summarizes Walt Disney's career in a very enjoyable manner, including many "souvenirs" from his life.These in themselves are history - a menu showing prices at that time, a letter written by him - these reflect the depth of the research and also the quality of the publication itself.Althnough I purchased this book for a girl aged 15 who asked specifically for it, I would have purchased it just for me.It truly is a collector's item.And, what made it even nicer was the price offered on Amazon - much lower than other book vendors.I would recommend this book highly not only to Disney fans but to history buffs as well.

Memories of Miles Walked
I'm generally thought of with a magnifying glass in one hand, and the bowl of a pipe in the other, but truth be told I've been a cigarette man most of my life, and since discovering Camel cigarettes in the 40s, they are my preferred brand. I was always quite fond of the illustration that adorned the package of the original non-filtered Camel cigarette, and at one time collected the empty packs until a doctor friend of mine told me that my smoking habit was bad enough without adding another addiction to the mix. Fantastic world of J-bots!

A JAPANESE ROBOT LOVERS DREAM COME TRUE!
My love affair with Japanese robots began with the Transformer toys of the 1980's...those generation one beauties that were at least part die-cast metal compared to the plastic versions of today.But as a collector my obsession grew once I found out there were Japanese Transformers that were never released here in the states, or were variations on the American versions such Twin Cast a re-colored version of Blaster which cold hold two of the mini-cassettes instead of one, or Sound Blaster which was an awesome black repaint of Soundwave.But as I started to get into collecting these Japanese versions I started finding other interesting toys...Macross I had been aware of for some time, mostly as model kits.And I knew that Takara had licensed a version of the transforming Valkyrie that would be called Jetfire.But then I discovered Popy, Bullmark, and Takatoku, among others and began learning about Mazinger and the Jumbo Machinders and so many others.
Pure Super Robot Joy
Finally, an English language book about the Japanese toy robot phenomenon that swept the world in the 70s! Awestruck by Shogun Warriors and Micronauts in those days, I always suspected there was much more to these mysterious visitors from Japan. As an adult, I have rediscovered my childhood robot friends and have been learning about them and even collecting them. If you are just starting on this path as well, this book will be like finding a long lost family album of Super Robot relatives that you never knew existed!

Not nearly all things, but still a lovely book
I have been collecting Alice in Wonderland items for nearly 30 years and I am happy to add this book to my collection. The information is presented in a format that is accessible to the general public and not just the Alice afficianado. The book production is also wery pleasing. The wonder of Alice is how she shows up all over the globe in so many ways 140 years after her conception. I think the title of the book understates to what extent Alice lives in our modern popular culture.

ALL THINGS ALICE - SHEER DELIGHT
I love this book. I received it yesterday at my office and read what I could on my lunch hour. I couldn't wait to get home. I bought this because I wanted to eventually introduce my 1 year old granddaughter to "Alice In Wonderland." Imagine my surprise to find that I can start reading to her now. There are extended nursery rhymes, funny sayings and a fascinating dialogue through the whole book. The illustrations are superb! I can start my granddaughter on the "white rabbit, calico cat, the queen" as well as "Alice" just from these wonderful illustrations. Awesome, Usable, Filled with Information
Shawn Peterson's Collector's Guide to Pez is filled with useful information on prices and availability of almost every Pez dispenser ever made.Along with wonderful, colorful photos and great details, Peterson has included great information for both beginning and advanced collectors of Pez products.His information on convention, collectors groups, and bargain hunting are particularly useful as a resource.In a hobby as fun and varied as Pez collectiong is, a great tool is needed.Peterson's text is the Bible for lovers of Pez both young and old.This is the only book you need whether you are a new collector or an old pro.It is definetly worth the money and will be a great addition to your growing Pez collection.

An Essential Guide For Any Pez Collector
Many people like myself collect Pez dispensers. It is a wonderful hobby to have because it is virtually impossible to find every variation of every dispenser there is. Sometimes there are many different variations of a single dispenser, for example the colors that were made. This is where this guide comes in handy. In here you will find colorful pictures of almost every known dispenser made, along with pictures of some different variations. This helps you know what you are looking for when you want a certain dispenser. I was disappointed with this book due to the fact it needs to be updated from 1997.It only covers Beatles memorabilia, not records or albums.Didn't cover autographs.Only covers pricing for early Beatles items, nothing current or the Beatles as individual artists. If you need a price guide for early items and don't mind the book being outdated by 4 yrs, this is the book for you.

excellent resource for collecting true vintage ornaments
I found this book most helpful in identifyingtrue vintage ornaments as well as their value. I loved this picture book.
This book is primarily a picture book with short decriptions that gives a fascinating look at the world's most famous theme park before it was a park. It's filled with black and white photos of Walt Disney's Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. as it was being constructed along with a few after its opening. The photographer, Mel Kirkpatrick, was given unfettered access through the entire construction of the park and he captured some amazing and unique photos. You'll see Disneyland go from orange tress and mounds of dirt being moved around, right through various stages of construction for some of the famous landmarks such as Sleeping Beauty's Castle and Main Street USA. Some superb aerial shots are included. The captions for the pictures are short and informative with one or two errors, which unless you're a true Disneyland buff you won't notice. For anyone who has ever been to Disneyland and felt the "magic", this is great look into how that magic was constructed. ... Read more

Bettie Page, the world's greatest pinup
I bought this book for my husband's birthday last year; he has always thought Bettie Page was great, and he is the one who enlightened me about her.As an artist, I was drawn to her style and unpretentiousness, and have drawn her twice so far.
Ultimate tribute and book on Bettie Page
There was one another 50's icon who rivals Marilyn in popularity today--Bettie Page.True, she didn't make any A-movies, but like Marilyn, embodied that woman who drew a fine line between good girl/bad girl and crossed the lines as easily as one drank Coca-Cola.Unlike Marilyn, Bettie survived, but like Marilyn, her legend lives on for one simple reason:she dropped out of sight in 1957 following the fall of Irvin and Paula Klaw by the Kefauver Committee on indecency and pornography and refused to have herself be photographed as she is now.Thus, she is remembered as she was back then.And as her life has become simpler, she values her privacy.She says so as much in the hand-written foreword, at the same time surprised and honoured that so many people are interested in her.Karen Essex and James L. Swanson book is a great place to start for those curious about Bettie Page.Basically, it's a biography accompanied by lots and lots of colour and b&w photos, many of them topless.There are two of them which has her completely nude.She also posed for countless magazine covers and photographers.Art Amsie's photos are the best of the lot here.Bunny Yeager is touched on briefly, but that woman has a book on herself so...Looking at the early Bettie, before she became a pin-up from 1947, is also quite a revelation.She is still beautiful, but in an ordinary way, like a typical girl growing up in 1940's America.There is clearly a dualism going on here.There's the pretty wholesome girl in the bathing suit or maybe not, and then there's the darker leatherbound fetish girl, be she receiver or giver.That latter half led to her downfall.The point also was that she enjoyed her work, mainly the lighter beach stuff.You can see it in those twinkling eyes and smile of hers.The last section of the book features models who have been influenced by her, be they in clothes or just looking like her.Of the lookalikes, Eva Herzigova, Debi Mazar, and Janice Dickinson have got it down to the bangs, (it's the bangs that did it for Bettie, after all), long black hair, and prominent eyebrows.Apart from being one of fantasy artist Olivia's favourite subjects, Bettie's images appear on album covers by My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult and the David Lee Roth Band.Her three videos, Teaserama, where she acts opposite stripper legend Tempest Storm, Varietease, and Strip-O-Rama have come out.She'll live on, no doubt about it.Anyone interested in Bettie Page-start with this book.You won't be disappointed.

My Favorite Book!
At first, I only wanted to see the new figures.But then I looked at the 60s figures and wanted the 40th Anniversary sets. I agree, the "prototypes" were fake but the book was still good. It is the only book I read. A great edition to your collection. Buy and Enjoy!

Fun photos, some fakes
This book for some reason includes re-creations of proto-types. How do you recreate a prototype? Sounds like a dumb idea to me. ...I don't know, but I liked the book mostly because of the interesting photos of GI Joes, and the information that it added to what I already know. The parts of the book (like the value guide) which I thought were garbage I just skipped over. There are lots of entertaining photos in the book, and interesting information too. Is it some kind of Collector's Bible for GI Joe? No, I don't think so.

Be Very, Very Careful!
While Santelmo's book is valuable for all the interviews with early GI Joe creators, collectors who have not had experience handling rare items can be easily misled by the many photos of so-called "prototypes" which were "re-created" for the book.Because the "re-creations"are not clearly markedthere is significant concern that when these surface in collecting circles they will be thought authentic because of their association with the book.The price guide is also virtually useless as it undervalues some very rare pieces and wildly overvalues some more common ones.Buyer Beware! ...
