5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Elvis Book!
This book is a must for any Elvis fan. Just read the foreward by actress Yvonne Craig who co-starred in two of Elvis' movies. This book talks about his movie career like no other book has done. The information is fun and educational. The book is illustrated with magnificent, unique international posters. When reading the book, it is as enjoyable as your favorite childhood storybook because the illustrations describe what has been written. The collecting section gives the novice and experienced collector useful and valuable information. This section is unique in that it describes many of the U.S. movie posters but also features information about collecting foreign posters which is not readily available to the collector. Finally, there is a special pricing section for the American movie posters which shows the increase in prices from 1983 to 2002 for the Elvis posters. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The food was fast, yes, but fast food toys linger.
Keep an eye out next time you're rooting around in your attic. 4-0 out of 5 stars "Fast Food Toys" is a must-have for collectors
Nearly every toy listed in "Fast Food Toys" has a photo with it! I find this to be a necessity that other toy collecting books lack. There is a great selection of modern McDonald's toys as well as toys from otherfast food franchises. My only wish is that Pope and Keith would haveincluded pre-1980s toys. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A Great Little Book, If You Want An HP Collectibles Summary
The amount and variety of Harry Potter merchandise never ceases to amaze me.Rather than collect much of it, just buy this book. The pictures are detailed and printed on high-quality paper.Want to see what some foreign editions look like? It's in here.Want to find out some basic info about J.K. Rowling? It's in here, too.3-0 out of 5 stars This book will please fans, and irk collectors
The book definitely has an entertaining value, but as far as a book for collectors, it isn't up to par. Most of the sections on Harry Potter collectables are not up to date, and they feature very vague values or prices. I think the reason is that Harry Potter merchandise is fairly new, and so it is hard to calculate an item's worth when it just came on to the market.1-0 out of 5 stars do not read this "book"
this "book" is the worst book i have ever read. the reason is because the "author" is putting 101 advertizements for harry potter mechandise. i reapeat myself, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars It does what it was meant to do, and it does it very well.
This is perhaps Mr. Wells' best Star Wars book yet. It's cleverly modeled after a the type of field guide used by bird watchers. It's very small (five inches tall, four inches wide, and a little over one inch thick), and contains a great SAMPLE of full-color images on high-quality semi-gloss paper. For example, there is at least one sample images -- and usually even more -- of each card type from the original Star Wars action figure line (Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Power of the Force, Droids, and Ewoks). There are also sample images of most of the new carded figures from the 1990s all the way up to 2004.And that's not all... There are sample images for dozens of other items, too! Vintage examples include loose figures, 12" figures, Topps trading cards, comic books, vehicles, playsets, lunchboxes, glasses, etc..Newer items include Lego, Hallmark ornaments, and newer trading cards, comic books, etc..
5-0 out of 5 stars great!
this is a great book i love it and its very interesting! Great information and pricing !

5-0 out of 5 stars Handy little pricing guide!
This book is not as complete as "Tomart's Price Guide to Worldwide Star Wars Collectibles", but it is far more useful as a pure pricing guide than Beckett's "Official Price Guide to Star Wars Memorabilia".It's small (about 4" x 5") but contains over 500 pages, including 250 color photos.

1-0 out of 5 stars The Official Price Guide to Action Figures (2nd Ed)
This book had all black and white pictures, and almost all of them showed the item in its package.I needed a book to help me IDENTIFY individual figures, which this book DEFINATELY DID NOT DO.I immediately returned the book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Solid Little Guide with A Few Flaws
The first thing to know about the various Warman's Field Guides is that by design they are not meant to be all encompassing. If you're looking to a comprehensive guide to every Disney collectible then you will have to look elsewhere (if there is such a beast). The Warman's Field Guides are designed to be pocket-sized guides, easily able to take-along on those trips to flea markets, antique shows, or garage sales. They are meant to give an example of various types of Disney collectibles, more for the casual or new collector, than one who's a veteran. Thus you won't find every item in the book but you'll probably find pretty close approximations, enough to at least make an educated guess about an item's value. It's either that or haul around a Webster's Dictionary-sized guide.
3-0 out of 5 stars Warmans disney collectibles field guide
Was not overly impressed with the coverage of collectibles in this guide. Can't be too specific except to say I perused the book when I received it a month ago and have not even opened it a 2nd time. Pretty much awasted purchase. Sorry to be so critical. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Oz: A Collection
Don't be fooled by its display. It may look big, but actually it's a small book (about the size of a Ladybird's Oz edition) with over 350 pages of Oz, collecting pictures and writings from the 1900 to (possibly) today! Not only does it have the American/British/English Oz, but also pictures from the Italian, Russian (now we get to see a few samples from theRussian translation), Bengali, Hungarian, Japanese, Latvian, Polish, Portuguese, Rumanian and Uzbek versions from the 'Wizard' and later Oz books by Baum. Now that I have this book, I really want to find and get the Italian "Il Mago di Oz' (by Raviola) book, the Russian "the Wizard of the Emerald City" book with illustrations (by L. Vladimirskov) and the comic-book adaptation.Of course, there are also many pages that involve the MGM and Stage versions of the story, as well as a few not-well-known versions, like 'On Ice' and 'Under Sea Ballet'.This book usually takes a half or full chapter from Baum's Oz books (Little Wizard Stories, Emerald City, Lost Princess, etc.) and many quotes from what the characters/author said in the stories, and also shows you lots of things (toys/figurines, book editions, games, accessories, displays, etc) which came from the books/movie.You will also see some pictures (and a bit of writing) from "Denslow's Scarecrow and Tin-man" and new coloured-in versions of the black-and-white Oz pictures, and (maybe) some NEW never-before-seen writing on Oz.
5-0 out of 5 stars Not in Kansas Anymore!
This is a delightful book!As a big Oz fan when I was a child, it was great to see all the characters and stories I grew up with come alive again. There are segments from pretty much all the Baum authored books (not the ones by other authors after his death), and great quotes dealing with all kinds of subjects pertinent to children and adults alike, such as intelligence, courage, etc. As an adult, I really enjoyed reading the "Other Voices" segments, where various people comment on Oz and 'what it means'.My favorite entry is the television summary of the 1939 movie by the Marin Independent Journal (p 72): "Transported to a surreal landscape, a young girl kills the first woman she meets, then teams up with three complete strangers to kill again."If that is not the ultimate in revisionism, I don't know what is.Entertaining and well worth reading. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Book Not So Good
I was referred to this book for price and identification and was sadly disappointed to get the book and look up the china I had to find that it had some of the pieces and history but by NO MEANS is a complete guide. The China Company I had was in there but it didn't have the history from the year the company started but it did have the identification stamps from the year the company started go figure. The price guide consisted of showing a few pictures of china this particular company producted and gave a few prices.I couldn't believe it.The only reason I kept this book is because I was so busy I didn't get to return it before the 30 day return was over.Oh well I'll know better next time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best collector's reference around!
Barbara Conroy shares her extensive personal experience as a collector in this invaluable reference work. The photography is exceptional, with hundreds of examples of dinnerware pictured in each of the four main categories, along with copies of period advertisements and brochures. Each section also includes a painstakingly assembled collection of hundreds of logos to assist the collector in identifying the company the dinnerware was produced for.A must-have reference book for the serious restaurant, airline, ship and railroad china collector!Pair this book up with Volume 2 of the series and you can push all your other books to the back of the shelf, you won't need them anymore.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cool pictures, nice history
Hamburger Heaven is a blast to the past, when there were Drive-Ins instead of drive-throughs. Starting with the history of the hamburgers as it related to the Tartars and brings it into the 70's, 80's and then 90's. It reports on the glory days of the Hamburger, when McDonald's was in it's infancy and there were far more unique chains than we can dream of today.
5-0 out of 5 stars Hamburger Heaven is Heaven
If you like hamburgers and nostalgia like me, you will love the book Hamburger Heaven. I've literally spent hours flipping through this book. Sometimes I just look at the picture and other times I have read the whole book over. Who ever knew there was such a rich history behind the common hamburger?5-0 out of 5 stars You Have to Feel it...

5-0 out of 5 stars Each picture offers a brief caption or memorable quote
Now in a revised second edition, Marilyn Monroe: Cover To Cover by Clark Kidder is a unique collection for the fans one of Hollywood's best known personalities, as it features full-color illustrations of numerous magazine covers that showcased this talented actress and American heartthrob. Each picture offers a brief caption or memorable quote (often by Marilyn herself) about the picture, as well as the average selling price for good condition copies of the magazine. Marilyn Monroe: Cover To Cover is a very highly recommended resource for celebrity memorability collectors in general, and Marilyn Monroe fans in particular.

5-0 out of 5 stars Clark Kidder Is The Most Knowledgeable Marilyn Collector!
Clark Kidder has done it yet once again. His magnificent Marilyn Monroe magazine collector guide " Cover To Cover " is lavishly illustrated with gorgeous Norma Jeane covers from around the world. This book is very helpful for Marilyn Monroe collectors. I have been collecting Marilyn Monroe Memorabilia since 1991 and everytime one of Clark's great Marilyn books come out I learn so much valuable information. This book gets my highest recommendation. Simply delightful and is a definite must have referance guide for any serious Marilyn Monroe collector. Clark Kidder is a Marilyn Monroe Super Collector and his work promoting the hobby of collecting Marilyn Monroe memorabilia has done wonders for the hobby. Two Thumbs Up!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Fans Delight!
This book will satisfy the demands of even the most "image-hungry" fan of Marilyn Monroe. It is a delight for the eyes. The magazine covers are presented in chronological order and are not your usual thumbnail photos. These are large enough to really view Marilyn at her most captivating. The images reveal a Monroe who is at times glamorous, at other times vulnerable. The images allow you to fully realize the evolution of Norma Jeane to the high wattge superstar, Marilyn Monroe. Not only is the Hollywood glamour there, but there is also images of her touching humanity. The information provided for each cover is thoroughly researched by Clark Kidder. This book is a valuable resource for Monroe trivia. Mr. Kidder has given us an intelligent and highly provocative book about Marilyn Monroe. The love of the subject by the author is demonstrated in the careful attention to details. This book is a must have for any collection. A rare find for fans. 5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous color!
Saw this book when it was listed with a book I wanted to buy about Christmas and the history of our American traditions. It is a beautiful book with lots of pictures- not alot of written information. Still find it interesting and informative.

5-0 out of 5 stars FUN AND FASCINATING!
Almost all Americans celebrate Christmas but so few of us really know its deep-rooted and ancient origins as well as the origins of so many of the traditions we hold so dear.
5-0 out of 5 stars A Real Christmas Gem
This book is such an amazing find! It tells the whole celebration of the Christmas holiday, from it's pre-Christian pagan celebrations, through the 20th century. Particularly interesting is how it became a Christian Holiday a few hundred years after the birth of Christ. But the book also covers how Santa Claus came to be, the history of the Christmas Tree, carols, and a pretty extensive article on Charles Dickens 'A Christmas Carol.' Read more

This pocket guide to Beatles collectibles is a handy reference for those wishing to value their own collections or add to them.I learned that my copy of Vee Jay's "Introducing the Beatles" album will not be funding my retirement, since it is in fact a counterfeit. The section on U.S. Beatles releases is useful; clear instructions are given for discriminating among the many variations that exist.

4-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy for the values, but for identification
Ok, Let's get the negatives out of the way:
3-0 out of 5 stars Does not have all 1990's
If your looking for a book that would have Barbie, Skipper, ken, stacey, Kelly and friends. This is not the book you want.4-0 out of 5 stars A Great Little Book
The author of this book gives us exactly what she claims to offer. Concise illustrations of the regular "pink box" Barbie dolls of the 1990's. There are other wonderful books featuring the older Barbie dolls but the regular dolls from the 1990's are frequently left out. The full body and close up shots have been helpful in identifying my recent thrift store finds. The author provides us with issue dates and stock numbers and approximate values at date of publication. The specific head and body markings are unfortunately not included. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Not for the average collector
I read the other reviews of this book, and it sounded like it was a good bet. What the other reviews DIDN'T say is that this book is only for those who have New In The Box items! For the average collector who finds dolls in antique malls and garage sales, this is worthless. It only prices items that are unopened in original boxes - perfect mint condition! There are no prices for any other condition level. Also there are virtually NO pictures, making it impossible to use to identify various models .Several reviewers made a big point of there being 50 pages of pictures(actually in the 5th edition it's only 29 pages, 3-6 photos per page, most are of only a single item). Only a handful of Barbies are pictured, with the rest of the pictures being other special items. So if you have one of those typical dolls found in a sale that doesn't have a box with a model number, good luck trying to figure out what you have. This book is worthless for trying to identify which Barbie you are holding, and there is no information at all in the book about identifying the knock-off copies of Barbie on the market. It is strictly a price list by year or model number, with no other information of any kind. If everything you have has boxes with model numbers, the other reviews are right - it's a good book with a VERY comprehensive listing - over 9,000 different items (see why 100 photos is no big deal?!).But if your Barbies are unidentified and in less than store shelf condition, forget it.This book is, a waste of time and money.

1-0 out of 5 stars ONLY AN UNREAL PRICE LIST
This book has a couple of pictures in the front. And the rest are complete and extense lists (vintage & modern dolls and accesories). But the prices are usually not accurate. And to be honest there is no actual good price list to apply to the second market barbie. You pay what you want and can afford. So, it is completely useless to have this book, since 1- It only contains names (no pictures) so it is hard to identify something unless it is NRFB - (in which case you don't need to because it says what it is on the box).2- The prices are unrealistic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Barbie
I had a huge box of Barbies from various years. This book helped to identify them. I also recommend a fun read about dolls, Dolls Aren't Just for Kids. ... Read more
