Wonderful Resource for Ty Bears!
This book is an excellent source of information on Ty plush animals!It is a valuable addition to any collector!I got this for my mother, she collects Ty Bears, and she didn' realize how many were actually out there. Excellent book, very well put together!

The Golden Age in 100Magenta+100 Yellow
As the author says in his the Introduction `Comic Book Culture' is basically a picture book and as such I'm pleased to have a copy.Goulart's history ofcomics Golden Age, roughly mid Thirties to the late Forties, is adequate though you can read more in his previous book `Over 50 Years of American Comic Books' but it is the four hundred covers reproduced that I think will interest readers more.Page after page of superheroes battling crime and or evil in dazzling 100 Magenta plus 100 Yellow, that's the printers term for the vibrant red that the comics biz could not do without.All these covers had to compete on the newsstand and the more 100Y+100M the better it seems, page 130 has the cover of The Human Torch (1943) leaping off the page, it couldn't get any brighter. A superb historical survey of comic bookheroes & writers.
Comic book collectors, researchers, and fans will appreciate this reflectionon the rogues, heroes and creators of comics in Comic Book Culture, a visual celebration of the Golden Age of comic books from the1930s to the 1940s. A 'Must Have' for the Serious Hallmark Ornament Collector!
This is a wonderful pictorial tribute to the beautiful Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments that make our Christmases brighter! It lists the hundreds of ornaments produced from 1973 to 1993, provides wonderful color photos foreach, lists the artist who designed them, and their original list price. Not as good as I had hoped but well worth buying anyway.
I was thrilled when I first came across this book, someone finally did a price guide for the kind of LP's I was collecting. Unfortunately the book didn't turn out to be all I was hoping for when I bought it. It is usefulas a discography for the artists listed and seems very complete in thatrespect but I wish it contained more and better examples of classic LPcover art and morebiographical information on the artists. I suppose thismay be asking too much from a price guide type book. But even as a priceguide this book seems a bit off. Although there are exceptions, almost allof the records are listed as being worth $3-5 or $7-10.Now as a collectorI think it would be great if record dealers would adopt this as theirofficial pricing guideline, but if you are buying these type albumsanywhere besides your local thrift shops you are probably forced to paymore than that for these records, sometimes a LOT more ( at least that hasbeen my experience). In fairness, I guess it wasn't too long ago that youcould pick most of these records up for under a buck almost anywhere, butoriginal LP's of lounge and space age bachelor pad music seem to be goingfor premium dollars these days and a recent price guide should moreaccurately reflect that. BOTTOM LINE on this book...Should you buy a copyif you are into this type of music? Yes! by all means. While this book doesmiss the mark a bit (in my opinion) there is precious little informationpublished about this type of music and this book is one of very fewavailable on the subject. While I was initially somewhat dissappointed whenI first read the book I have gone back to it on numerous occasions to looksomething up and I am glad to have it on my shelf. The discography typeinformation alone is worth the price of the book and there is a bunch ofother pertinent information included which is also useful (websites,etc.).Most of the book is taken up by the price listings but I did enjoyreading the text that is there and found it informative as well. Now if Icould just convince my local record dealers to sell me those Esquivel andThree Suns albums at thisbook's prices.

Anticipating a great catalogue and price guide for lounge music, I was somewhat disappointed in this publication.Too much page space is given to the discography and price listing and too little to a beautifulpresentation of the covers which are so essential to this style of music. All the good stuff(photos and text) inhabits verticle strips on the edge ofthe pages.The covers are poorly printed with a dull look.The pricingseems pedestrian and not detailed enough.
