Halper's collection
The pictures are indeed magnificent, however, I must demur about the accompanying text which does not provide appropriate, tightly written or in some instances, historically accurate information.

Wonderful pictures and attention to detail
This is an incredible reference, especially for uniforms.The pictures and detail are amazing, and you can generally tell what people thought was real, and what people did not from looking at the prices.The attention to detail in the descriptions is really helpful in identifying stuff today. I wish there were more photos, and sometimes I wish there was an acknowledgement of some of the controversey surrounding some of the items.I really am in awe of the folks who put together this beautiful book, and the incredible pictures.I think this is a great starting point for anyone collecting seriously.

Incredible Pictoral History of the Artifacts of the Game
Only one word describes the catalog set.....INCREDIBLE.As a life-long baseball fan, collector, dealer, etc, this set of catalogs, pictures in beautiful crystal clear color, many of the artifacts of America's NationalPasttime.Many people were upset at Halper for breaking this collectionup.Contratry to that opinion, I believe breaking the collection upallowed SO many people to share in the history of the game.Five milliondollars worth of collectibles were purchased by MLB for the NationalBaseball Hall of Fame.Twenty two million dollars worth were auction inthe Sotheby's auction and an unknown amount on amazon.sothebys.com.Thesecatalogs contain relics from every facet of the game......baseball cardsdating back to the 1880's.....team and individual photos dating back evenfarther.....uniforms, bats, balls, gloves from nearly every hall offamer......personal trophies like triple crown, Cy Young, MVP and so muchmore.Nowhere will you find such a book that illustrates why Baseball iswoven through the fabric of America than this catalog.The lotdescriptions are carefully crafted to be both a history lesson and athought (and pocketbook) provoking snapshot of baseball.Never again willthere be such a collection amassed.No one has the access to players andprobably the funds to acquire such a collection....you get aglimpse at everything important about baseball.Everything good aboutbaseball.....you forget about the strike of 1994, you forget about the highpaid cry babies of today and remember the guys that played the game for onereason.....the love of the game.There was team loyalty, work ethics, andso much more that baseball and America as a whole is sometimes seriouslylacking today.Spend the bucks.....you won't regret it...... ... This is a very disappointing "catalogue" of no-so-recent aucton house catalogue photos and descriptions (some makers incorrectly identified) and a few batches of collections contributed from here and there. As a lure collector, I have several identification guides.
EXCELLENT AND WELL DONE

Female Collector
This book is great for anybody that has an interest in collecting baseball memorablia.Mr. Zachofsky has unique suggestions for collecting autographs and how to display them.

A wonderful book for collectors!
I received this book as a gift and was very impressed with the suggestions and the history it gave. I have since begun creating my own Baseball Memorabilia Room and I have even gotten a few Hall of Famer autographs. Ifind this book extremely helpful for any collectors, experienced or new tothe hobby. I think this book is fantastic and it is the "BIBLE"of any collecting manual. With the upcoming baseball season, it reallymakes a great read especially if you're interested in starting amemorabilia room. Outstanding work! Excellent, scholarly research!
This book was a delight to read and will be a great reference in the future. The authors did a thorough, scholarly research effort and it shows in the quality of the information in the book. Though the focus is onautographs, I felt the background on the players and other history wasworth the price of the book alone. A must for autograph collectors and ofgreat value to anyone interested in the Negro Leagues of American baseballhistory. Congrats to the authors on an outstanding job!

Baltimore Colts Football
Very well written and informative book of one of footballs' greatest teams.The Colts were a Baltimore icon, and this book is wonderfully descriptive in regard to how the club formed, the winning tradition, and the fateful day they left a heartbroken town.A must read for any Baltimore Colts fan!Also contains great pictures of memorabilia.
