Button in Ear : The Steiff Encyclopedia
This is an excellent overview of the history of the Steiff Co. Tons of pictures showing a vast history of stuffed animals and dolls. There is one doll that looks exactly like Homer Simpson. But also lots of information on how this privately owned company started, the methods and inventions for devising their creatures, pictures of the factory, the museum, dioramas, all amazing... In keeping with the Steiff profile the book also sports a heafty pricetag. Ahcht

really informative!
I just got started collecting, and this book has given me all the background information on what to expect.It's impossible for any book to keep up to date with the actual Beanies, but you won't find a better guideto the hobby itself.

The definitive book for collectors.
Some many books on BBs are simply price lists or have a very limited period of usefulness.This one is different and will be my reference of choice.There is no way to predict what Ty will do, but this is the bookthat can track what has happened to date.The section on spottingcounterfeits is invaluable and has saved me from making a couple of costlymistakes.I also got some chuckles from the creatively posed beanies inthe nice color photos.Right after reading my own copy, I immediately senta copy to my beanie-crazed young nieces.

Nice Try
This book is a good attempt at being different from all of the other Beanie Baby books and guides.However, it is not that easy to read because the authors grouped the Beanies according to genre, not alphabetically. Black and white pictures were not all that useful.Some backgroundinformation (but not a lot) sets this book apart from the rest of the pack. However, it makes little attempt at saying what makes a particular beaniebaby popular or unpopular or with whom.A good guide to starting out inthe hobby but not useful if you are already immersed. ... Bears, Hares and Friends-Oh My!
As a new collector of Boyds bears, I was very curious about the mysterious "CVG" I kept coming across in various auctions. I went out and got myself a copy of CheckerBee's Collector's Value Guide. And I am glad I did! It is chock full of info about almost all the Boyds Bears, etc. that have been "put up for adoption." I just wish that the pictures were a little bigger and complete. There a few too many blank spots giving neither a picture nor any info. Someone should send in photos of the ones missing so the author could include them in future editions. I do not recall seeing an address for such. not as good as the 1999
I found this years book to be lacking some pictures.I buy the book to help me make choices of what I will purchase this year so that was a let down. ... Read more

Order is taking too long
I placed the order in August and it is now almost Oct and it still hasn't been mailed out.It's really not worth waiting this long.

Cute Bears - Really Easy to Make!
Really simple animals to create, and just as easy to put together. The simple clothing is really quick too. Easy enough for someone just learning to crochet, but I made Pierre in mohair and he looks wonderful. No onewould guess he was so easy. Instructions are very clear, with line art tohelp with assembly. Nicely written. I also bought Paulette's newest book,"Button Buddies" which has 5 crocheted animals with buttonjoints.
