Beautiful book although it doesn't live up to its title.
This book is very beautiful. It has great pictures of each car from different angles, a short description of each car and lots of comments about certain details.

I thoroughly enjoyed looking at everything contained in Quentin Wilson's "The Ultimate Classic Car Book," but what it contains doesn't even come close to earning it the title, "Ultimate."

Misleading Book Title
This would be a good book for someone that was only interested in carriages.We were looking for information on sleighs and the book proved to be a great disappointment since it only had three illustrations of sleighs.The title is very misleading.

What a beautiful book! Hardcover and full of the most deliciuous information. Mr. Burness has compiled, from his own collection of original railroad advertising a real time travel to explain us in the words of the railroads themselves (and some related industries-even Lionel), the evolution, successes and problems of American rail industry. The ads are sorted in alphabetical order by company name. From the 20�s and 30�s going through that heroic period of WW II and the postwar years and coming to Amtrak, you will witness the introduction of dome cars, the new trains like the California Zephyr, new technical achivements and so on. Riveting Story
The first 100 or so pages or so pages are an extraordinary account of the Wright brothers development of the first airplane and controled flight.It was interesting to learn why Kitty Hawk NC was selected as a test area; plenty of wind, no trees and sand to land on.Also that development of first plane could be done on the profit from summer earnings from a bicycle shop.Overall this is an excellent and detailed documentary of the Wright brothers achievment and also the impact of the business considerations which followed. Great Approach To A Many-Times-Told Tale
This is a fine account of the Wright Brothers' lives and achievements.It reads easily, and sets correct some of the myths that have grown around Wilbur and Orville (such as the vignette about building the little sled). The thrill of discovery... "October Sky" with grownups...
