Reccomended by the accidental quilter
If you love Hawaiian quilting--this is a volume you shouldn't miss. Thisis not a "how to" manual. It is a history of classic Hawaiinquilts accompanied by color plates that left me spellbound. The designs areincredible and well worth study.I've held a fascination with the possibledirect connection between early Hawaiian quilts and the Baltimore Albumquilts of the the Eastern coast. This may be the only book with colorplates of some of these beautiful early quilts that would offer clues tothis connection.My favorite designs in this volume are Anthurium by MaryManoi and Coconut and Pineapple by Meali'i Kalama.It is of no consequenceto me that this is not an instructional manual as I do not anticipate everbeing able to quilt one of these masterpieces. The authority on fabric dyeing
I had used a couple of other fabric dyeing books earlier and wasn't too happy with the process and frustrated by not being able to reliably reproduce colors.

This was a wonderful book.In fact, I wish that I had ordered this one prior to the other books on dyeing that I ordered.It had simple, easy to follow instructions.The color wheels printed in this book were the absolute best!In addition, beautiful color photos illustrated unique designs and colors. Wonderful Book!!!!!
I love this book. The instruction is so clear and very easy to follow. I was able to finish my quilt top in 8 hours (I have neither quilt or sew before). I hope for more of this kind of book. Highly recomended.

Molas! : Patterns, Techniques, Projects for Colorful Appliqu
Although I found this book to be very interesting historically and culturally, I was disappointed in the projects and techniques. Some of the projects were made from paper rather than fabric.I wanted more information on making fabric molas.

An excellent reference work.
The writing in this book is clear and concise, the directions are easy to understand.The color photos are sharp.The background of the Mola has obviously been carefully researched.The only fault with this otherwise 5star book is the lack of many full-size patterns for the beginner to try. Inspirational
If you're looking for inspiration for your quilt making, this is the book. It's like taking a walk through a museum of history and culture. Filled with color photos.

Experiencing History
I received this wonderful book from my son,(via an Amazon gift certificate) for Mother's Day.It is very meaningful because I've had the pleasure of meeting and viewing the works of several of the featuredartists including the author.The women are as warm and vibrant as theircreations and willing to share their God-given talent with emergingquilters like myself. The colors in this book leap off the pages and wrapthemselves around you , just as the original quilts were meant to do. Iagree with another reviewer; even if I didn't know which end of the needleto thread this will be a most cherished gift. I am extremely &excitedly inspired.

Beautiful, work.
The book is displayed proudly in my home.I read the book and enjoyed the narratives on each chapter and the comments of each artist. I was very pleased to see the different "twists" and "spins" ofeach artists work.Looking at the pictures, you can almost touch thecolors, textures and the spirit of the work. I've been to several art showsin which some of the featured artists work were on display. I had theopportunity to attend a quilt show in Huntsville AL to hear Yvonne Wellstalk about her work and I was extremely pleased that the works of quiltartists are being highlighted in one woman/man shows. great resource
if you like making 19th-century style applique, this is the book for you. even if you aren't interested in the 19th century style, there is a lot of good information on creating applique.
Lots of pictures
The author emphasizes that applique uniformity doesn't have to be perfect from block-to-block.I liked the section with directions on how to design your own applique patterns from foldling and cutting paper. Excellent Book For Beginners
All of the blocks in this book are made up of triangle or square pieces. On the up side, each block is very easy to piece. on the down side, each block contains a large number of pieces, so it can be time consuming to cutout. I love the book because I enjoy templates and I like the black and white pages that allow you to color the pieces in (like a coloring book) so that you can design your own quilt.

Many lovely examples of quite complicated star patterns.
This book is for the experienced patchworker. The star patterns are clearly laid out with detailed instructions. The patterns have many pieces which would challenge a beginner to patchwork. ... Read more

Should be titled: Easy Quilts from Snippet Projects
If you wished the first book had more info about making snippet projects into quilts, this is the book for you! I was going to give this book three stars because I felt the title was misleading (I'm not interested in quilting and was looking for new snippet projects), but I give the book five stars because it contains solid information about incorporating snippet projects into quilts. Regardless,I'll pay more attention to the sample pages next time. Best book ever for Beginner or Advanced Creative Quilter!
I have had a heck of a time starting to quilt, as I am afraid of color selection, that is- until I bought this book!This is the most fun I've had in years!The designs are beautiful, fun, and belive it or not, EASY!I am just a beginner! You can complete a project in about a day! This book is fantastic!The other snippet book is wonderful too!If you don't buy these books, you are a crazy quilt, or a bump on a log cabin!

don't waste your time
If you have read one of the Snippet books, it seems you've learned all she has to teach.My book arrived yesterday and it is on it's way back today.Flipping once through it was enough.She even uses the same pattern of the dolphins as your included pattern and the vase and flowers that were promnent in her first book...which by the way I loved. ... Yummy, Easy, Eye-Candy!
Kay is quilt designer I've only met on the Internet, and I was thrilled to buy a copy of 'Teapots to Applique'hot off the press!It turned out to be a great book which even exceeded my high expections. Kay's teapots are whimsical, elegant, original, traditional-but-with-a-twist. Each is eye candy---an unusual handle here, a quirky lid there, or an absolutely fantastic novelty fabric. Best of all, these projects can be very simple to complete ---it's easy to imagine doing just one of these blocks as an ultra-fast wallhanging gift.
