Candle making book
This book is a guide for people with intermediate to advanced candle making and candle display skills.It has plenty of advice on how to display candles and plenty of illustrations.It was my first time making candles and I used this book moreas an inspiration for candle display.Also a word of advice for all beginners.Do not waste money buying the recommended tools separately.Goto your neighbourhood art and supply store and buy a candle making kit as it is cheaper and comes with most supplies. ... A number of well-produced guides explain how to make all sorts of candles, but few if any have the elegant European flair that distinguishes some of the designs featured here. Thorough instructions and beautiful photos give all the standards their due: dipped, molded, container, decorated, and beeswax candles are explored, along with interesting variations not commonly found in other candle making books, such as granite and marble effects, sculpted sunflowers, rubber-stamped designs, and a plate full of miniature candles made to look like delicious chocolate candies. Each project helpfully indicates the required skill level (mostly beginner and intermediate), though the instructions can occasionally be a bit hardto follow since they are presented as full, sometimes fairly involved paragraphs rather than short numbered steps, and at least one omits an important explanation (the paper candle shade must be placed on a metal support, which is pictured but never mentioned in the materials list or directions). Overall, however, this is a worthwhile and attractive book, particularly the concluding section of "artistic candles" designed by French and Italian candle artists. Read more

Best book for Beginners
This was my first time candle making.I went to my neighbourhood art store looking for something totally unrelated but when my eyes fell on this book, I made my boy friend "TOMMY" buy this book for me immediately.Candle making is a fun holiday hobby for the whole family and I made my candles for Christmas.This book is filled with wonderful step by step instructions on how to make candles for the novice.It also introduces you to some easy beautiful designs. The Best for Candle Work
I purchased this book several years ago and used it through the entire timespan.It took all the guess work out of when to do your candle burning.It's also good if not better than any almanac.I would not be with it.

Pretty & Imaginative Ideas
If you believe presentation is important and like to occasionally make your guests go "ooh" and "ahh," this is a great book for ideas.Most ideas aren't that complicated, but make a big impact.Not really for people who want to make candles, but really for people who have plain candles and want to gussy them up.Terrific, inspiring photos!

Candles
I was a little disappointed when I got this book, because in Canada the title is "Decorating with Candles" and it its not a decorating book.But this book is fun! Its got lots of great candlemaking projects, from plain candles to more decorative ones for special occasions.The instructions are really simple.Alot of the materials are easily found in your house too (aside from the wax!)There are projects for your kitchen, for childrens' parties, for outside and for Christmas too! You can even make scented candles and different types of holders and sconces.

In a word...Gorgeous.
