5-0 out of 5 stars Relaxing Coloring Book
Highly recommend Everyone's Mandala designs. Each one is different enough so I felt a sense of momentum as I colored through the book and complicated enough to keep my interest as well.On the other hand, each design had wide shapes so that I didn't get lost in the details.Coloring overall was relaxing.I'm definitely getting her other volumes.I might get this one again, too, because the designs can be colored in so many different color combinations.Really a treat!

5-0 out of 5 stars Engaging the Center
I purchased the whole series and look forward to coloring or painting them all. They are deeply engaging, neither too simple nor too complex; calling me into a calm center where hope and healing not only feel possible but just seem to happen.A very thoughtful and creative bonus from the author that I've not seen in other Mandala books is the wide perforated margin at the center binding in every book so you can actually remove and display your favorite mandalas afterwards. This rare feature also makes it especially friendly to those of us who are left-handers!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars EVERYONES MANDALA COLORING BOOK SERIES
Author, artist, transpersonal psychotherapist and business person alldescribe what Monique Mandali is, but do not tell you who she is. I've beenprivileged to meet Monique and I knowthat she is a seeker traveling herpath. Her walking stick is her love for all, especially children.Ms. Mandali offers a series of four coloring books forchildren and adults. There are three different delights in the originalEveryone's Mandala Coloring Book series, each consisting of 22 designs. While the original three books in the series contain designs by the author, the latest (and perhaps greatest) has 25 peace mandalas from children allaround the world. The Peace Mandala Coloring Book is very special becausethe mandalas are designed by children unencumbered by the pressure of adultliving. Further, they bring a variety of spiritual as well as geographicalcultures to bear. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars The American Boy Handy book
This book goes back to the eartly 1900's. It was before boy scouts came into existanc. Thre were many handy illustrations of how to make a dug out canoe, build a tent, make a fishing pole. It was so interesting to see how people had fun in the outdoor before all oof the luxeries of toeday. I have used this book as a research tool for my next book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, highly recommended!
This book was originally published in New York City, in 1890. It is the work of Daniel Carter Beard (1850-1941), a fun-loving boy-at-heart, who organized a boy's organization (the Society of the Sons of Daniel Boone) and was later instrumental in the establishment of the Boy Scouts of America. This book is a wonderful collection of projects that a boy can make, everything from kite making and fishing to tying knots and camping. Sound familiar?
5-0 out of 5 stars Thank you Daniel C. Beard for writing this book.
An excelent guide on many unique projects. It tells you how to tie many knots, make boats, snares, and hunting tools like bird-bolas and throw sticks. I don't care what anyone says THIS BOOK IS NOT OUT OF DATE! Just because over a century has passed since being written doesn't mean that one won't enjoy making sleds, snow forts, and whip bows. Sure it's old fashioned but not out of date. One can still enjoy the many projects, I certainly enjoy them more than the tv. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Not what we expected
My husband and I reviewed this book and found it too technical. He is an aeronautical engineer and able to fix or build nearly anything. Our sons are Lego fanatics and I bought this book with the hope of it being a jumping off point for them and my husband.
5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT Jumping off point for the hobby
If you have/are a lego fan BUY THIS BOOK.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good book, a must for any serious lego collector
This book has a lot of great models to build and teaches some great builing methods and explains many different aspects. It has a very good appendix listing almost every element and providing graphs that are a huge help in building projects. The only two negative feelings i have for the book is that it really is the only book out on the subject. You do not have a choice to pick another book. One other thing is that on the supporting website, which is nice, they do not have the instructions posted yet.(by the time you read this they might have posted them, www.apotome.com) If your a serious collector you need this book, it is worth the price to me. ... lots of different puppet ideas. They are not too difficult, great to make with kids.

2-0 out of 5 stars Arts And Crafts Time!

It would be great for teachers but not if you are interested in designing, making, and performing professional level puppets. 5-0 out of 5 stars New to Reggio Emilia approach - loved this book
I am not a teacher and I was not experienced in the Reggio Emilia approach to preschool education (project approach) before reading this book. I sought this book for handwork ideas with the items my girls collect on their nature walks. I could not put this book down!5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful book for caring teachers of young children!
This book is a great way to ease yourself into Reggio or to inspire others on your team. You do not have to be "Reggio inspired" to know that young children love small, collectable items. They find such wonderful treasures, but classrooms are not often set up to make good use of this "Beautiful Stuff". This book has great photos and easy to read text showing readers the process that children and staff went through in developing this long term project.I particularly enjoyed the summaries at the end of each chapter on what the adults learned during the process. My only complaint would be that I wanted MORE!

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Stuff! Learning with found materials.
If you are a Reggio inspired teacher as I am, you will love this book.It takes you through the wonderful process of sharing the joys of all thoselittle treasures that young children find and love. You will be amazed athow clever the children in your class become at sorting and classifyingthrough the kinds of experiences that working with 'Beautiful Stuff'involes.I just love this book, it has changed the way I view thematerials that I put out for the children, and how I use them.My friendsalso love this book and all ask, "where did you get it?"Thankyou Cathy Topal Weisman and Lella Gandini you are inspiring. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Spooktacular finds and helpful hints
i found this book to be helpful for decorating and having the scavenger hunt which i hope is a hit at my party. the foods were okay, because i think when you're having an adult halloween party, you need to have less sugary foods and more grown-up foods so to speak. otherwise, it was fine. thank you

5-0 out of 5 stars 101 Spooktacular Party Ideas
I love Halloween and had looked FOREVER to find a book to help with some ideas in the celebration and this book is it!This book gives ideas and step by step how to's in playing games, making recipes and creating props. Straightforward, easy, non-crafty and fun.Age limits are put on the games so you know which ones to use, or not to use.I have bought so many Halloween how to books that just sit on the shelf. This one does not!I have dog eared and paper clipped this one into tatters! This IS the book to buy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Halloween Book for Kid's Halloween Party!
This year I purchased a number of books on Halloween in order to get more ideas for my annual Halloween party for children ages 2 to 8. This book is a gem, best of the batch. I was able to use at least 10 ideas from this book, including "Stick the Nose on the Pumpkin", "Bopping for Apples", "Halloween Hunt" "Witches Brew" punch, etc. These ideas are easy to use, and not time consuming, unlike the ones I found in other books... where the prime requirement seems to be having a lot of spare time to carry out their ideas. I will use this book over and over again in years to come! ... Read more

This book was great for helping plan my son's kindergarten valentine party. The snack ideas were super and pretty easy to assemble. The highlight of the book is the valentine bingo game where everyone wins at the same time. The children just loved the game as they all shouted "bingo" at the same time.We also did the ice cube game and the cupid game. Both were also big hits with the children!I would highly recommend this book for any class parent needing some creative ideas for kids from 5+.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome book
This is a really great book on how to mkae simple, and some not so simple toys for children. Most of them are just beautiful as well.

4-0 out of 5 stars Overall....pretty good
This book gives good ideas for toys to make at home and gives some good description of children's play at different stages. The main problem I have is that I have never carved wood and there are no directions on how to actually carve.I would like to make some of the wooden toys, but I will need to do more research beyond this book to actually be able to carve the wooden toys. So, I guess I'm saying, if you have a base knowledge in sewing and carving, this book is very good....if not, you will need to do some other research in addition to this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Directions for Waldorf-style toys and more...
This book is a revised and expanded edition of the original book titled "Making Soft Toys" which was published in 1981. The author is a Waldorf Kindergarten teacher. This book discusses the importance of play as seen through a Waldorf education perspective and explains that natural playthings from nature and toys made from natural products are important. The book opens with several essays on the subject of the value of play and the nature of (appropriate) play as seen through the eyes of a Waldorf educator. Simple toys that allow imaginative and creative play are defined as ideal and appropriate for the proper development of the child. The author states that toys made by hand are more appreciated by children and she urges parents to make toys by hand, with the child's help or the child watching. A listing of toys appropriate for different age groups is listed. Discussion about outdoor play, play with dolls, and clean up time is included. Full instructions for over 45 toys are provided. Toys include dolls and doll clothing, knitted animals, wooden playstands and cloths, wooden tree blocks, and carved wooden toys (bridges, animals, spoons, etc.). Using wool roving is explained and instructions for creating pictures with plant-dyed wool end the book. The book is 93 pages long and the instructions are detailed and illustrated with line drawings. If you enjoy crafts and want to make Waldorf-style toys, this book is a must and a good value. Of course you can buy many of these toys already made, but you would save a lot of money by making these yourself. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Ok for adults
It's rather difficult to grasp what the author is talking about, due to the fact that she does not include very many details on how to put the characters together, or how much clay to use. It's pretty difficult for kids since the projects are very specialized and involve A LOT of clay for anyone who's not a "professional" hobbyist. It's good for getting ideas or checking the basics but I would not recommend this book for the projects or fora novice, like me.

4-0 out of 5 stars Inspirational pc book for kids
Definitely a book to own for kids pc artist. You may not be able to recplicate 100%, but this book surely gives ideas to kids.

5-0 out of 5 stars no no no
ummm, this book is premium.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great for Teachers
My high school students loved the design unit I taught based on the elements of design by creating accessories with duct tape. Written by a high school student who was also bitten by the duct tape bug, makes this book very relevant to teens. In fact, they got so involved they worked till the bell rang and had to hurry to their next class.
5-0 out of 5 stars A Must For Intrested Duct Tape Amateurs!
When I first saw this book I was intrested in but compleately inadept with duct tape. This book gave me ideas, inspiration and instructions.

5-0 out of 5 stars A very well thought out book
This book is amazing. It's beautifully designed and it is extremely well organized. I can instantly find the kind of activity that I am looking for (backyard activity, craft to do at the kitchen table, etc.) It's also easy to zero in on age-appropriate ideas, too. I have purchased a lot of activity books over the years, but this is definitely one of the very best.

5-0 out of 5 stars The BEST Family/Kids activity book ever!
This book is worth its weight in gold! There are activities, games, ideas, etc. suitable for any occasion. I have a son and a daughter, am a boy scout and a girl scout leader, entertain numerous neighborhood children and bring crafts into my children's classrooms often.A great deal of the activities I do comes from this book alone. I have a full time career also, so I don't always have a lot of time to plan and this book makes it possible.Even if I don't follow an idea exactly, I receive inspiration for other activities/crafts and always find a use for any type of container, paper roll, rocks, pinecones, etc.So if you want a book that not only has great craft ideas but also ideas for groups, games, things to keep your kids entertained while they're waiting for dinner; then this is your book! Have fun and enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this book!
I bought this book, as well as the FamilyFun Craft book.It is a great book with great ideas for a wide range of ages. There are so many good ideas, its hard to know which to do first!I also liked that it is spiral-bound, it makes it easier to look at the projects. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Configure the Center Just How You Need It
I purchased the whole series. At times different forms call for my attention and the additional selection is definitely appreciated. The variety is quite good. They range from simpler to complex, with open spaces which leave room for my own variations. The author's designs seem to create a sacred space in which the individual's own light can shine, even if all they want to do is simply "color" a bit.I would expect this flexibility to make them accessible to people with widely varying skills: children, many disabled persons, the elderly, the imaginative and the gifted artist, as well and most of us who are somewhere in between.Yet they are undemanding so that no one need miss out on the calm center and its healing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Everyone's Mandala Coloring Book Series
Author, artist, transpersonal psychotherapist and business person alldescribe what Monique Mandali is, but do not tell you who she is. I've beenprivileged to meet Monique and I know that she is a seeker traveling herpath. Her walking stick is her love for all, especially children. Ms.Mandali offers a series of four coloring books for children and adults. There are three different delights in the original Everyone's MandalaColoring Book series, each consisting of 22 designs. While the originalthree books in the series contain designs by the author, the latest (andperhaps greatest) has 25 peace mandalas from children all around the world. The Peace Mandala Coloring Book is very special because the mandalas aredesigned by children unencumbered by the pressure of adult living. Further, they bring a variety of spiritual as well as geographical cultures to bear.5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully centering activity and a great gift!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for teaching children
I recently purchased this book and have found it to be a terrific resource for teaching children how to make beautiful books. The instructions and diagrams are easy to follow and very clear. My favourite is the T.V. book. The children in my class had a blast making these books.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Reference
Good ideas for books to make with kids, and also some basic ideas to further explore in more complex books.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book for Kids
I used several ideas in this book to teach an afterschool bookmaking class for K-3rd graders. The books are eye-catching and pretty simple to make, although I did a bit of prep work for the kids.
