What a wonderful book to dream with the kids...
I bougth this book the first time in the earlies 80's, and I lost that copy.
A READER
Please don't buy this book unless you are comfortable reading vague plans and are an experienced carpenter. For all the other "Weekenders" like me who appreciate step-by-step instruction with diagrams/pictures, detailed information on techniques for their projects, discussion regarding suitable materials and tips on finishing the project (i.e. painting, etc.) PLEASE choose a book more suited to your skill level. ... I sense impending doom if I attempt to build his cover playhouse which, by the way, seems rather small at only 6'x6'. I think I will join the ranks and order Norm Abrams plans and video as well. DONT BUY THIS BOOK

Great Birthday Party ideas!
We used this little book as the basis for a flower fairy birthday party for a six year old, and it was a huge success, and considerably less expensive than renting Little Gym or another insitutional party place.
Excellent book of crafts!
I bought two copies, one for my 9 yr old daughter and one for her friend.They love it and have had the most fun with these creations.I do recommend a littleadult help and guidance with the different crafts.

I admit that I am a *freak* when it comes to Halloween...and now that I have kids I plan on getting them involved in my passion as well!I am always the one buying up all the Halloween magazines at the grocery store checkout looking for recipes and crafts...and THIS ONE sums up everything!AAANNNDDDD...It is ALL in color!!!It has awesome crafts, costumes, food, music/movie suggestions...everything...and for ALL age groups (eg, even non-alcoholic drinks to alcoholic drinks).And what I love about the food is there are cute ideas that are "spooky" and cute but not really gross like some Halloween recipes.

Playing and Celebrating in the Center
I purchased the whole series.I keep coming back.Its a treat combining one of the best pleasures of childlike doodling with intuitive ramblings on a deeper level.I'm still wholly engaged every time I enter a new one.I'm not sure there could be any "wasted" designs, just ones that appeal to me differently on different days.I'm close to thinking that one day I'll buy these volumes again just for the chance to experience their centers and colors differently.No matter which one I tune in to for the moment, they still have that uncanny quality of helping my work and worries fade so that my center become clearer and rest seems more possible.

I cAN CROCHET!!
This book really makes crochet easy for kids. The layout and clor coordination is soo pretty, even beginner adults will love it!!
Love it!
I only been crocheting for 10 months now, but I stumbbled across this book at Border's Bookstore and came on here to buy it. It is simple and easy to understand for begginners. It doesn't cover all the stitches, but it helps you understand the basics and the projects are really cute. I highly recommend this book!

Great book but limited
This is a wonderful book for learning how to crochet, but keep in mind that it does not cover half double crochet, double crochet and the taller stitches. It covers several variations of single crochet, both increases and decreases, as well as providing ample illustrations for all of the techniques. I understand why they limited it, as they would have had an enormous book if they covered every aspect of crochet in the same level of detail. Still, it might be confusing for those who learn from the book when they're confronted with patterns that list hdc, dc, tr, dtr or trtr among the stitches. ... Read more

Very cool...
First of all, this is a great idea!!! I got advance copies of this (and the author's other book) at a tattoo convention in Philly and I LOVE it. There's a great mix of "easy" coloring designs and also (what I considered) "advanced" designs for coloring. There are some pages perfect for a toddler, and some for the parents. LOVE the book, hate the binding
I love this book.It has ideas for REAL families.Sometimes you flip through books and magazines that have decorating and organizing projects for some fictional family that must have way too much money, way too much time, and kids who don't behave like real kids.This is a very down-to-earth, realistic book of projects that are doable, affordable, and work for real people.
Mom's New Best Friend
I received this book for Christmas and I've already used it three times.My two year old son loves that he can be a "big boy" and do things all on his own (get his own snack, put his toys back in the right boxes, etc.).We're heading out today to get some more supplies today!

One of the most enjoyable books I have found to do garden crafts with my children.Each of the projects were fun and easy to do. I would recommend this book to young and Old.I hope the author is working on another book.Her illustrations were great.
