Not that impressive.
This book has ideas for crafters of all tastes.The projects in this book range anywhere from victorian to country.Although this book doesn't stand-out as a favorite among my collection of craft books, it is wellorganized with nice pictures of all the completed projects. If it wasn'tfor all the clever ideas in the children's chapter (and a few good dessertrecipes too), I probably would not keep this book.

Variety and diversity of ideas
Impressive to find in one book so many different, easy to make and fun to do, ideas.My children had fun making the painted shirts.Continue with books this fun.Hope you introduce Leisure Arts for The Spirit ofHalloween too!!!!

Excellent, very creative.
This book is full of inspiring decorations and recipes.Several decorative ideas/creations would be easyfor children to do and yet still be appealing to adults.There are decorative ideas that would be approprate for the "country" look or a more "formal" atmosphere.I think it's great! ... Read more

Don't waste your time
These projects may be "quick," but they aren't very interesting to look at.However, there are a lot of these books available for a very good price as used books.I personally wouldn't spend more than a dollar on a book like this.

Easy and quick cross stitch gifts!
I can see why the title is called Weekend Cross-Stitch Gifts since I made a magnet and a book marker within hours! The other projects range from samplers, photo frames, place mats, bread covers, etc. I plan to make several more items from this book. ... Read more

Wentzler Wins Again!
This collection of Wentzler counted cross stitch charts brings back some favorites including Angel Procession (on the cover). The book contains several wonderful charts (previously offered singly).If you are a Wentzler fan this is a "must have". Nice variety of cross-stitch designs
This book contains a nice variety of cross-stitch designs and includes suggestions for both small and large projects.It is organized into easy-to-use categories such as "Childhood Days," "Holiday Memories," and "Special Days."Each section includes instructions for specific projects plus a variety of additional designs illustrating the same theme.The instructions are simple and easy to follow, and all of the designs can be adapted into other projects. However, it is important to note that not all designs are pictured, so it is sometimes hard to imagine how a finished project might look.Two basic alphabets are included for those designs that have words. Overall, this is a handy reference book for the creative cross-stitcher.

Well done Sue!
Sue Cook has come a long long way from her early, punchy but clumsy designs. Most British designers lack the boldness of American stitching, but Sue has managed to capture the bright and striking texture of good American design. If you like Donna Kooler, you'll like Sue Cook (not the early designs). If she continues to develop, we could have a mix of Kooler and Englebreit - now wouldn't that be something?? LIFELIKE DESIGNS
The wildlife designs in this book deserve five stars, these designs depict a collection of five animal habitats from the safari, air, forest, polar region to the ocean. These are no cartoon-like cute pictures. The images are realistically lifelike but still retain that artistic quality. OUTSTANDING!
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL WORKS! I BELIEVE THEY ARE FOR ANYONE FROM BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE - ADVANCED TO ENJOY.CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE EXQUISITE DESIGNS IN THIS BOOKLET OF HERS!I KNOW I WILL BE WORKING ON AT LEAST 4 OF THEM THIS YEAR.

For experienced stitchers only....
If you love Theresa Wentzler's work, this book will not disappoint you.However, the designs here are quite intricate and difficult to do.I don't know when or if I will ever do one because I found her charts very difficult to follow (and I do not have all the time in the world to do one); but her work is definitely stunning and beatiful.The work involved would definitely be a labor of love.It is the only book by Theresa Wentzler I will ever buy, however, due to the complexity of her charts.

Beautiful embroidery. Modernizes the sampler art form.
This book will inspire you to try new stitches and to design your own house and garden sampler.The "learn to" stitch diagrams are great. I do wish at least one of Mary Jenkins' samplers was presented as a detailed chart for creating a complete practice piece.

This book has got to be one of my favorite cross-stitch books of all time!This book contains some of the best designs from Leisure Arts.All of the charts can be done in a few hours or a few days.It has charts forValentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Fourth of July, Halloween,Thanksgiving, and Christmas.All of the pictures and charts are in color. Wish I could rate this higher
This has a wonderful collection of quick to stitch items that would really come in handy at gift giving time. However there is a huge glaring error in this book which prevents me from reccomending it. There is a chart for a Jewish Star done in flowers in the book. One of the flowers looks exactly like a cross so you have a Jewish star filled with crosses. As a Jewish person I found this upsetting and a little offensive. I was surprised the designer and the editors let this go.

If you love to give hand made cards and keepsakes buy this
This was one of the first cross-stitch books I ever bought,but it is still a wonderful resource. The style is very english with a touch of whimsy. Very much like the author who I had the pleasure of meeting.There arecards to cover every concivable occasion plus a few a I didn't even knowabout. One of the sweetest is a chart covering wedding anniversaries fromone year to sixy years which would make a beautiful sampler. Eachanniversary is depicted by various glass beads with the title above. So forsilver she has used two minature siler coins hung from a fine white andsilver bow. A book for anybody who enjoys giving hand made cards andkeepsakes.
