Pods: Alien beauty here on Earth!

Four stars instead of five...
Only because I thought the book could have been a bit more Japanese in it's approach. That said, as a newly qualified florist and a long time floral artist this will be a favorite among my dozens of flower arranging books.

Ideal beginners book.
Gives a few basic pages on how to dry flowers using several different methods, then progresses to how to store and prepare them for arrangements.The rest of the book it taken up with detailed instructions on how to build a variety of different arrangements in different styles and for different occasions, like Christmas, thanksgiving, weddings etc.The Each double page offers several photographs along with the detailed instructions so you can build the finished arrangement they are showing.Excellent book for those wanting to get a feel for things or trying out a new method or arrangement. ... Great for color combinations
This book has a big emphasis on color and color combinations.The front of the book has pages of dried flower bunches grouped by color and the arrangements shown within the books pages all revolve around keeping within certain colors and color schemes to be used at particular times of the year or for certain occasions.Details a variety of different styles of arrangements and discusses texture and style.Photos are used to show arrangements for inspiration for your own ideas there are no detailed instructions to make particular items.There is some detailed information about making flower swags and ropes not found in a lot of books.I would not say this a book for a beginner it might be a bit intimidating but it's a great companion book anyone who wants to be creative.

more emphasis in arranging than I wanted
I was looking for more relaxed natural looks - if you want a good book on drying flowers, taping them to wire and arranging them then this would be a great book for that.Lots of beautiful pictures to inspire and seems to have lear instructions.Some info on the use of silica too.

Beginner's Answer to Dried Flowers
This is an excellent book.What I especially liked were the photos of the authors performing the techniques decribed.Very straight forward with lots of good project ideas.They included an extensive list of flowers, how they should be harvested, and the best drying technique for each.I've bought several dried flower books and if I'd bought this one first, it would be the only one I'd own.
