Not what I expected
Perhaps I did not read the description very well, but I thought I was getting a book about purple arrangements of flowers.I was surprised to see it was stationary when it arrived.

It's a great book for me
I like the beautiful pictures of the flowers, the recipe-like instructions on how to make the arrangements, and the writings from Rebecca Cole that encourages the reader to be creative, and skip the recipe if you'd like.I borrowed this book from the library to check it out, and I think I'm going to buy it to keep because it's such a beautiful, practical and inspirational flower book.

Ho-Hum.....Hardly!
ANOTHER book on flower arranging?Ho-hum I thought.But wait, the author is Rebecca Cole, the charismatic and incredibly talented floral arranger and author.A relatively tired subject is made crystal clear and amazingly new by Rebecca.The book includes basic flower care advice, excellent instructions and photography, and makes you love flowers almost as much as the author.As with her two previous books, highly recommended for the visual enjoyment as well as the writing, to say nothing of the incredible ideas. ... Teach yourself flower arranging

Everything in a Nutshell!
I have several books on floral arts and this tiny book is the most concise. While taking a class at the NY Botanical Gardens, I found it to be a more effective resource that the course book! This book is small and to the point.It contains design techniques and many illustrations.I alsolove her book Flower Arranging Style, which is much more elaborate.

The title of this book should be "Fuzzy Flowers".I have never been so disappointed in receiving a flower arranging book! Good reference

With a bit of simple preparation, an ordinary piece of muslin becomes a canvas for the intriguing art of flower pounding. Taped to the muslin and whacked with a hammer, nearly any type of flower or leaf surrenders its pigment, leaving behind a ghostly image resembling watercolor painting. By outlining these delicate images with permanent marker and stitching over them, Ann Frischkorn and Amy Sandrin turn them into lovely quilts. Wonderful and artistic results from your garden!
You may be wondering what in the world "Flower Pounding" is. Put simply, it is the process of transferring plant pigments to specially treated fabric via pounding with a hammer to create floral imagery reminiscent of water color painting. When I read through the book I was amazed at the beautiful projects within and wanted one for my very own. I'm having a lot of summer fun with this.....KATE
A friend introduced me to Flower Pounding.We are having a great time with this.The authors give a lot of great tips on their website.They also state that your Flower Pounding works of art are dry-cleanable.This is great news!We have also tried color copying our poundings to transfer paper and having them ironed onto t-shirts.It worked great.Now they truly are washable.I don't see why you couldn't iron them onto a quilt block too.The possibilities are endless with this technique.Thanks to Amy and Ann for making my summer and my quilting a lot more interesting.

Great basics
This is a wonderful book. My girlfriend has it, and having looked through it, I am going to buy it for myself. It has some beautiful patterns for beginner crocheters. Basic patterns are usually pretty unappealing, but these are gorgeous. The instructions are easy to follow too.

Lovely, Natural Christmas Decorations
I've used this book over and over to decorate my home at Christmas with Southern style arrangements.Demonstrating these techniques for garden clubs and at libraries, I always found a ready audience for this and it was really easy. I learned it all from this book.
