INTRUDE UPON THE INTRUDER/PROWL AROUND THE PROWLER
Having thoroughly enjoyed Lock On #16 (Mi-24W HIND E Gunship), I decided to check out the rest of the series to see if they had any of my other favorite aircraft. To my delight, Willy Peeters has done one on the A-6 Intruder. This book is a great 36 page full color tour of the interior and exterior of the A-6 (Intruder/Prowler). It's a welcome addition to Lou Drendel's A-6 Intruder Walk Around (Squadron/Signal Publication) which, itself, contains a fair number of color photos (rare for a S/S book). Peeters does an excellent job of explaining what it is you're looking at in each of the captions. A solid installment to this impressive series.

Wished this book was bigger
Very good photos, but could have been better. Measures under 10 x 9 inches. Only 32 pages. I am looking for more detailed books. Hoping that Grummam A-6 Intruder: WarbirdTech Vol 33 has what I want. ... Read more

VISIT THE FORTRESS

The art of making extraordinary reading material
I loved this book! This is the latest in my collection books by Timothy Alberts.From beginning to end the author captivates you with attention to detail.Although this book does not delve deeply into the more intricate aspects of how to make the designs shown, most are not for the beginner anyway.The designs featured in this book are some of the finest that I have seen.I would recommend this book to anyone interested in millinery, and eagerly await future works.

Lack of Information
I was unhappy to see that this book did not contain explicit hat making instructions.The best example was chapter 5 on straw hats.In the instructions you are told to sew the straw braid together either by hand or machine but did not tell you if you should butt the straw braid together or over lap the braid.No help was given for hand sewing the braid either... what stitch to use?Nothing was mentioned about machine settings either.For example, if you use a straight stitch how long should the stitch be?If you use a machine zigzag stitch what is the best length and width. I was also surprised at the how to pictures in the book.I expected better close-ups.This was my first book about millinery so my expectations may be too high but I still feel the book left out a lot of very important information. ... Must have reference for building a Titanic Model
Like many ship modelers, I have always had a fascination with the three Olympic class liners, and particularly that most famous of the three, the Titanic.Of course, many are drawn to her story and tragically short life, but I have always been fascinated by her appearance - in my estimation, she was one of the most beautiful ocean liners ever built.
Very well-organized look at building a Titanic model
Having watched via the internet this model come together over the past couple of years, I often thought how great it would be to have a literary offering detailing a step by step illustrated procedure on how to build the definitive Titanic model. Over the years, there have been offerings to help the modeler build a comprehensive rendering of Titanic, from this writer included. Peter goes above and beyond and delivers in a way like nothing put out there before. The plans and photos will help the more visually-oriented person, while the text-packed pages will greatly benefit the model-maker who works better with worded descriptions.
A "must have" !
This is a "must have" for any person interested in the Titanic or ocean liners in general. Although, the book is aimed at model builders, people interested in the external structure of the ship will also find this book extremely interesting. The book is full of plans and some very rare photographs - I think some of the photos have never been published before.

Stunning book
Even if you don't actually build plastic models, but enjoy looking at amazing creations, you'll love this book. Stunning models, beatiful pictures, and repeat viewing potential. I've had this book for more than 10 years, yet continue to re-read at least once a year... and I'm not even building plastic models any more.

Product NOT a kit - two heavy books!
Thoroughly disgusted with this order.Thought I was ordering a kit to make some robots, but received two huge books for my grandson's birthday present.When I sent them back, I was charged $11.00 in postage and then did not receive my full refund because I did not fill out the correct papers which I never did see.Not happy at all with this!Did not get what I wanted and did not get my money back!

A beautiful book with lots of information!
I really enjoyed reading Dolls' Houses. This book is well organized and easy to read with a large number of beautiful color photos. The authors are obviously experts on the styles of doll houses through the past centurys. The presentation of doll houses starts with the 1600's all the way up to the present time. Excellent "heads-up" to the beginner.

Just a start!
This book is like a textbook (very small textbook) probably written by someone who knows a fair bit but has no ability to teach and explain. The book is a small paperback book with minimal illustrations that tries to cover the complete building of a model boat. If it were a map, it would be one 8.5 x 11 map of the whole United States.

Excellent primer of ship modeling
Charles Davis is the old grandfather of ship modeling and maritime history. Though much of his work has been since superseded by more recent research, much is still worthwhile today."Ship Models and How toBuild Them" takes the reader step by step through the process ofbuilding a classic 1/8"=1' solid hull ship model, with the 1846clipper ship Sea Witch as the subject.Plans of Sea Witch accompany thebook.The techniques may also seem outdated to the modern reader but onlythe most advanced artisans will not find something of value in Mr. Davis'suggestions and examples.Although the text and illustrations are specificfor this clipper ship, the guidance is also intended to be useful forbuilding models of a large variety of vessels.It is an excellent primerfor this kind of ship modeling.Modern techniques and research have madethe construction of a more sophisticated and historically accurate model ofSea Witch possible but it is hard to imagine anyone seriously undertakingsuch a project without reading through this classic. ... Excellent book!
A "must have" for Lionel Train enthusiasts. I'm not sure who enjoys it the most, my 60 year old husband or our three year old grandson! Ours is getting so dog-eared from hours of enjoyment that we might need to think about a repalacement!

A little bit disapointed
The book is a beauty (as a graphic arts product) but as the review title reads I am a little bit disapointed. Don�t get me wrong. I like Roger Carp and his writting. In fact, he is almost the only reason I am suscriber to TCC magazine. However the book, in my humble opinion, falls short in the two aspects one could possible focus on: the Lionel art and the information about it. The illustations though as nice as we expect from Lionel history are pretty much common for Lionel enthusiasts and very well known from long ago. One could think that being this a book about Lionel art something special would appear.Read more

The First Official Book in English!
I strongly recommend this book to everyone who wishes to handmade his/her own Sumo Robot Wrestler and compete against many other Sumo robot builders. This is the book to start with for competition sumo robots
This is an excellent book on sumo robots.It takes you all the way from building your first sumo robot to construction of the battle rings. Superb! - Good for Robot Sumo and other types of robots too
