2-0 out of 5 stars Only 6 Designs - Relatively High Price
Money Folding 2 by Florence Temko has the same problem that the initial Money Folding book had. Both books only have 6 designs each - but have a relatively high price tag. With Money Folding 2 she doesn't even bother to number the pages since there are so few. There are 11 pages of instructions, plus a page of introduction and then 2 pages at the end for tips. That's it, that's the entire book.
3-0 out of 5 stars Buy only if you like the 6 projects on the cover
The directions are very well done and I'd rate them 5 stars. But this booklet "Money Folding 2" is just that---a BOOKLET. It has only 6 projects which are shown on the beautifully photographed cover. If you don't think that the 6 projects on the cover are worth the $7 price tag then you will be disappointed. (Add postage to that price if you aren't wise enough to group your purchases to get free shipping from Amazon). I had previously bought Florence Temko's first booklet called just "Money Folding" because I loved the heart shaped "magic" wand on the cover. The wand is fabulous and has been a big hit with the kids who have received them from me. I would have paid $7 for just the wand directions but I also liked the other 5 projects. I bought "Money Folding 2" (the booklet that this review is for) because I liked the flower in a pot project on the cover. I was not as thrilled with this project as I was with the wand but I learned how to do it and have now passed the booklet onto a school teacher.

2-0 out of 5 stars Keep the money, don't fold it
The only redeeming model in this book is the dollar-bill ring.Your best bet is to pick it up used if it's under a dollar, or find it in a library and copy the diagrams for the ring.Read more

A few comments about this book:5-0 out of 5 stars Helpful as well as playful
This origami book has many things going for it.It has wonderful color pictures depicting what the final product will look like as well as good black and white pictures of the step-by-step folding process. If the cleardirections do not help you, these pictures certainly will. Also, unlikemany other origami books, which show just the basic folds at the beginningwhich you must flip back to, it has all the directions on the same orsequential pages, plus has the picture of what you are making one or twopages before the direction. This has many cute ideas for paper art andwould be enjoyable to do with a child. The only downside is that it onlycomes with ten sheets of 6"x6" origami paper, but you canpurchase many kinds at a local craft store. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars I have ALOT of candlemaking books...
Although this one lacks glossy color photo's, it has a lot of great and valuable information presented in simple terms. It has a lot of handy conversion charts and wax formulas for various end results. It discusses issues more serious candlemakers will run into that are not mentioned in other books, such as the dreaded wet spots, and suggestions on how to go about side by side wick testing comparisons. My favorite and most reliable reference.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best of the bunch
I've been making candles for about 15 years. Every year or so, I check the candle making books to see what's new. There were many new ones since I checked last and Bob Sherman's book Candle Making is the only one I bought. It was by far and away the best of the bunch. It has easy to understand instructions on a broad range of candle projects. Mr. Sherman also clearly explains all the elements of candle making as well as the materials used.4-0 out of 5 stars Many typos and low quality images
I heard a lot about this book, so I decided to buy it. The contents are really good and helpful, but I was rather disappointed with the amazing number of typos I found. Considering that the book also contains formulas, typos are absolutely not acceptable - I still need to check one formula that I think is wrong.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth it for the 2 Klingon models
I've always had a love-hate relationship with origami. I love models which manage to capture the essence of a natural or artificial form using a series of folds based on a single square of paper, but I can't stand ones that are just a cobbled, distorted representation of a beautiful organic form. Hence I love some of the classic folds such as the frog, but generally dislike all of those mammals and aeroplanes etc. Some shapes seem to lend themselves to origami and some should probably never be attempted in my (completely uninformed) opinion. I bought this book because I was amazed that someone had managed to entirely capture the essense of forms as complex and distinctive as the Klingon battle cruiser and K. bird of prey using single, uncut squares. A couple of the Enterprises look pretty impressive too (I haven't attempted them yet), although they are made from two sheets, which sort of spoils it for me. 1-0 out of 5 stars Worst book ever!
This is the worst book I ever ordered at Amazon. 4-0 out of 5 stars Where only the Bold should go
I've been folding for over 30 years, a member of several origami organizations.I found this book to be great far as the model shapes and looks. But some of the models require some moves that have no definite landmarks and it takes several tries to ge the porportions correct so that the model looks right. Also, most of the models expose both sides of the original paper. If you use standard origami paper this results in a half colored model.I didn't find any moves that were super hard, but careful attention must be paid to the text instructions.Overall, I found the book to be inventive, and well presented. If you are not a purist when it comes to origami, you should find this book a good addition to you library. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Paperland
Art and nature got the attention of Hector Rojas early on. He grew up in Bolivia's capital city, La Paz. His parents couldn't buy him toys, so he made his own from what was right at his fingertips:boxes, cardboard, empty cans, and especially paper. He taught himself to make beautiful, fun paper copies of the toys he saw in store display windows, and he followed his imagination. He shares his artistic skills, imagination and love for nature in his book ORIGAMI ANIMALS.
3-0 out of 5 stars BetterChoices Available
This is a decent origami book. I can see four stars if it happened to suit your particular taste, but five stars no way. I would suggest Honda's "World of Origami", either of Tuyen's books or Yoshizawa's "Origami Museum I: Animals" for some five star animal origami.

4-0 out of 5 stars Decoupage the Traditional Way
In this Dover publication Hasbrouck Rawlings brings together a myriad diverse prints for hand coloring and black and white techniques. The few colored prints included are not very useful and are of poor quality, but the wide variety of engravings have something for most decoupeurs. The instructions on how to begin are very traditional and do not take account of the latest advances in the hobby - such as "New Decoupage" by Durwin Rice. Even so, both beginers and more advanced students are likely to find this source book inspirational - especially if you are keen to hand color your work and want a "period" feel. Good value for money but not a first book for beginers.

5-0 out of 5 stars It is about time
I Haven't yet recieved my copy I Ordered , but I have borrowed my friends copy of "The Big Picture Sourcebook" often. This book has great and easy pictures and simple hints in it.They also have a section of ideas on crafts. I can't wait to get my own so I can stop having to borrow. Also for those who are new to decoupaging, they make the pictures easy touse and really help you through the process. I also find any clip art bookspublished by Dover a really great source for decoupaging. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Weird diagrams, weird book
There are some things about this book I enjoy. Many of the subjects are very cool and original.I love the Vulture. On the other hand, the diagrams are just strange. Each step would be 2 or 3 steps in another book. Difficult for beginners, I even had a hard time trying to figure out what was supposed to be happening in some of them.4-0 out of 5 stars A picture's worth a thousand words
After reading two grossly conflicting reviews, I decided borrow a copy of "Fascinating Origami" from a friend. My thoughts: this book is NOT for beginners - unless you ace all of Mensa's spatially oriented tests. On the other hand, if you have folded any of Montroll's medium-hard creations, you should be able to make it through the pictorial instructions without much trouble. (Most of the time. But use a scrap piece first, just in case.) The resulting models are also at a par with some of Montroll's best, making it well worth your while!

Very good diagrams.Projects range from very easy to more advanced, following a logical progression.
5-0 out of 5 stars Never gets old...
I bought this book when I was about 11 years old.I am now 20, and still use it.All the base folds are relevant for alot of the more advanced models that I fold.I will never get rid of this book, and it should be in every origami lover's library!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent beginner origami book
This is one of the best beginners books there is.Models are grouped into chapters covering the different origami models with a range of easy pieces which will give the beginner plenty of practice with basic folds and techniques. The finished results are attractive and in some cases downright exciting - the Steve Biddle Father Christmas is one of my favourite models.I also like the Kawahata pteranodon.

I found this book to be alot of fun. The pictures are easy to do yet detailed and the end results were really nice. I had never done this kind of craft before and this book gave me a chance to do so. There are a variety of pictures, mostly children playing and such, they are all different sizes and could be used for many different things. I would highly recomend this book to anyone who would like to try the craft of paper cutting.

3-0 out of 5 stars Classic Origami
The models in this book are very stylistic and are unlike any others I've seen. That being said, I find the instructions in this book very difficult to follow compared to other 15 books I own.I consider myself a low intermediate folder but I am only able to complete about half of the models in this book (and even they don't look very good). There is at least one fold in each model that is very difficult to figure out.The diagrams leave something to be desired.A good book, just not for folders of lesser skill.

Tuyen's presentation of figures from the crane to his spider is a refreshing interpretation of ten basic forms. The diagrams and instructions make folding the models in this book easy yet the figures themselves are a challenge to complete. This is among the top 20 of my favorite origami books. ...
