I have always wanted to make my own art stamps but never knew how or where to begin. Thanks to Art Stamping Workshop, all of my questions have been answered! After reading this fabulous book, I was able to create a stamp from items I had around the house. Gloria's instructions are easy to follow and the photos clearly show how each step is supposed to look as you go along. Gloria Page makes stamp carving easy and FUN! The variety of projects in this book are different from anything I have seen in other stamping books and are easily adaptable to any style.

Great Book for Beginner to Imtermediate
If you're looking to combine great rubber stamping with another medium, off paper, then this is a great addition to your stamping art library. The book shows great ideas, and shows enuf material on technique that you can do it easily.

A Beginner's Dream
I was thrilled with this book.I am a novice at rubber stamping and I wanted to make my own Christmas cards this year, so I bought Ms. McGraw's book hoping it would be what I needed.It is perfect for the beginner (and probably those who know some about stamping but want more ideas and information).The book is laid out in a format that is easy to follow and not overwhelming or confusing.It is written with specifics in mind.It offers plenty of options giving you room to stamp as fancy or as simple as you like.I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves stamps!

One of the Best!!
This is one of the best rubber stamping technique books I have come across.Unlike many other technique books, Nancy sticks primarily to dimensional and textural effects that can be created with stamps and ink on paper.There are a couple of projects devoted to stamping on other surfaces such as acetate or shrink plastic, but these are in the minority.For those of you who are interested in broadening your techniques for rubber stamp art you use to create cards, you will not be disappointed with this book.Nancy uses materials that are common to any stamper's stash--ink, stamps, watercolor crayons, glue gun, etc.You won't have to go searching for exotic, hard-to-find or expensive materials to complete the projects.I LOVE how the photos provide very clear step-by-step directions for each technique.I don't know if Nancy is the model for the photos, but I sure smiled when I saw how each stamp was heavily ink-stained and obviously well-loved and used!

A truly enjoyable work of art
This book is a gorgeous pictorial and includes step-by-step instructions for each technique shown.I have looked through it over and over just to enjoy the artwork.I've also been able to adapt the designs to my own style and use the instructions to succesfully recreate the projects shown.One of my favorite rubber stamping books.

All good tips in one book!
I like this book because it has a lot of good tips all in one book.I own many rubber stamping books with tips and techniques but they do not have such variety in contents and they are often bits and pieces everywhere across different books which made me end up with too many books on my book shelves.I do not mind if the ideas are originally from Suze or not (as one reviewer brought up)...at least Suze has recognised the need to compile and compact the ideas as much as possible into one book) which I find value for money beyond compare.Her book is easy enough to read and understand and I've been able to come up with successful projects that make a difference and that I'm a proud owner of.I truly have never seen an author so willing to put so much in ONE book for the readers and I'll have to give Suze the credit for that...5 stars all the way!(This book complements the artsy side of rubber stamping)

Taking Rubber Stamping to the Next Level
After my initial purchases, I didn't buy many books on rubber stamping because most of them describe the same techniques and just show different examples. This book is different. As soon as I leafed through it, I knew I had to buy it. The samples in this book are works of art. The techniques are advanced, the photos are beautiful and the instructions are clear and concise. This is not a book for beginners. It won't teach you the basic stamping techniques but instead it takes stamping to the next level, from a craft to an art form. I consider myself an advanced stamper but for sometime I have been looking for something that would that would help advance my stamping skills. Anyone can paint a floorcloth using this book
Having made several floorcloths, I was encouraging my sister to try it.I bought this book not only because it offers easy to understand step by step directions, it also makes you realize that you don't have to be an artist to create a beautiful cloth.The author's ideas are so creative, yet simple enough that anyone reading this book will be motivated to give this project a try.

First Floor Cloth Painted
I read this book from cover to cover. I am not a painter and have never attempted anything like this before. I wanted to be sure that I was getting all the information I needed to be prepared in painting my first floorcloth. This book is a must have for anyone that wants to start painting floorcloths.The information is very detailed with step by step instructions for many projects.I learned so much about the differences in canvas,paints,techniques,what different tools to have and what they can do. Again, Sherrill has produced a book worth examining for wonderful pictures, and step-by-step techniques.My greatest concern is once again finding the trademarked material TYVEK utilized in craft work.The makers of TYVEK specifically have stated it is never to be heated or used other than for what it is specifically designed for.Deathly toxic, once more it is appalling to find it used with a 'heat outdoors' statement attached.Does the company know this material is being used this way???As an art educator I must not only be aware of this safety info for myself but for my students.Poor editing let this one slip by. ... Gets the creative juices flowing....
I mainly bought this book due to the great reviews I read... not that I needed another beginning stamper's book, but, I wasn't disappointed.I'm not always pleased with the finished products created in the book, but they definitely gave me so many new ideas, ones that I know I will be pleased with!I especially like the cards created using an acetate sheet over a background paper and the shrink plastic.

Best book I own
I love this for the basics and then for the additional techniques you need to go a little further. Fun and simple instructions. Try it--you'll like it!

Very Satisfied Customer
I have been stamping for a year, and enjoy learning new techniques, getting tips, and seeing examples to get some creative ideas of my own. This book is organized, informative, beautifully illustrated, and has easy to follow directions and tips to make all my projects come out looking good. The book has nice photographs and examples of stamping, but doesn't have enough information about the techniques nor the supplies used. I didn't like it. I thought I would learned everything for stamping but this is not the right book. I think I would keep searching in other books.

helpful even if you don't start a business
This book offers a lot of ideas, even for people who are not planning to make art their sole source of income.

Art with Soul
This book was such an inspiration to me and has profoundly influenced my own artistic journey. This isn't merely a card making business how-to book but, rather, it is an inspiring tale of one woman's journey as a writer and an artist and how she found her voice in the art world. Gloria shares with us in an open and honest way the good and the bad of creating cards and making a business of it. Unlike traditional business start-up books, this delves into the emotional side in a very personal way that invites the reader to explore and learn from the experience of a very successful and talented artist. It was a joy to read through this book and I keep referring back to it often for not only for inspiration and insight but, because it is encouraging as well. Every serious artist who is wanting to sell their work for profit should invest in the experience and lessons from someone who has been there and understands oh so well. As an instructor and professional artist myself, I recommend this book to all my students and have given away numerous copies as gifts as well.

Not What I Expected
I suppose this is a good book if you have NEVER rubber stamped or seen anything other that stamp on ink on paper.But I am rather inexperienced, and I thought this was not good at all for what I was looking for.If you are new to rubber stamping, fine.But if you have anything more than even the most basic experience, I'd pass on this and get something more advanced.

dissappointed...
I love to see Dee doing projects on The Carol Duvall show so I bought this book and her first book.
Over use of rubber stamps???
Everything in the book is for rubber stamps. There is no incorperating it into your scrapbook, its all stamped. I think this book would be way to overwelming for the beginner stamper. It does have alot of nice ideas but depends to heavily on just rubber stamping everything except your pictures. There is nothing showing how to do a multi-embellished lay-out with other things besides stamps. There is 143 pages in this book.

Rubber Stamping for advanced stampers
I am not a expert stamper but have been stamping for awhile. But this book is helpful for people that have been stamping. Its like a Stampers Bible. The outline and pictures are fantastic, as well as the instructions very easy to use from the beginner to advanced. It's one of the best stamping books I have read.

Great for newbies
I just started rubber stamping and I bought four stamping books for ideas. This was my favorite of the lot. It included several techniques I hadn't heard of before but that were easy for me, as a beginner, to recreate. The photography is beautiful and the instructions are easy to understand.
