Most Complete Book I have tried
I have more than a dozen paper craft books and this is by far the best I've tried.Many paper craft books give a list of materials and a couple very broad directions.This book is dfferent in that it presents its projects by skill group, i.e. rubber stamping, heat embossing, sewing, etc.There are sections in this book that I have never even heard of before like the shaving cream method.In general each chapter starts with an in depth instruction on the topic and then offers several different projects using that process.Great for beginners and more advanced crafters. ... A BOOST for those who want to leave a legacy....
This book was the ONLY idea book that I read cover to cover, many times! Angie has done a phenomenal job encouraging the reader to do a search within and then place it in layouts/journals. I have used this resource multiple times in my own scrapbooking trek. And since reading this book, I have found when I have scrapbooker's block, once I do a layout of myself, my creativity is unleashed once again! It's as though I am "being true to myself"! Thank you Angie for this boost for all of us who are trying to leave a legacy!

Shockingly disappointing
I was disappointed in this book on many fronts.First of all, the price for the amount of information you receive is very steep, especially when compared to the $10 Making Memories books and various companies' Scrapbook Encyclopedias available.Second, this author seems to have very little expertise in the area of scrapbooking, despite her self-promotion.It is definitely a book geared toward a beginner as the information is what one would find in any free beginner scrapbooking class given at your local craft store.Lastly, I can summarize this book in the following way:Do a layout about these areas of yourself--
Finding out who I am.
This is an excellent book/project for anyone who wants to understand themselves better.I'm free from an abusive relationship now, and with a man who treats me like gold.Read more

The title let me astray...
The pages and projects shown in this book are very attractive, but I'm a complete newcomer to scrapbooking and the tools used.I'd hoped for a guide to how to USE the all these new gizmos, complete with helpful tricks and cautions, step-by-step instructions and lots of how-to photographs - not ideas about more things to make with them.Since I'm new and have no experience with this equipment, I can't even give an example of the sort of helpful tips I was seeking.Sigh!I expect I'll have more appreciation for all the lovely project ideas once I've actually gotten some successful experience with my new tools through trial and error.I'd hoped to avoid the 'error' part of that process with the help of this book ...

helpful to newbies
I've just gotten into scrapbooking, and was a bit confused by some of the tools and materials on the market. This book provides a good review of scrapbooking tools and their use. Most of this material is taken for granted in magazines, and this book fills in the gaps.

Great resource
One of the reasons I enjoy Memory Makers magazine is the same reason I love this book.When they show you anything from a layout to a technique, they always have clear instructions in how to accomplish it.Some of the more popular books, magazines, etc. spend more time in telling which products are used and not how to use the items to create.

Great ideas but needed critique from MM
I'm creating a Heritage album and found this book very useful for ideas; however, many of the submitted pages (from scrap-bookers)that they showed suffer from a lack of journaling and/or clarity, so it is hard to tell the stages of the family trees. I wish MM had critiqued some of the family trees to show how they could be improved so that future generations... and even the creator in a few decades!... could easily determine the line of descedants. ... Don't own it; saw it in the store; here's what I remember
I'm giving it four stars because it had information in it that I wanted and projects that I thought were cute.There were a lot of projects that used little frames, which is what I am interested in.She tells you in each project which supplier sells the frame and the suppliers are listed in the back along with page numbers for their products used--very handy.She used the same suppliers for several projects, so you wouldn't have to shop around at a million different websites.

A different kind of book
I have just received this book. Although I expected more examples of completed pages, I was not disappointed. I have more than enough books and magazines to confuse me with too many ideas. It is a comprehensive, easy to understand entry into the world of creating a true heritage album. It is a wonderful resource and I would strongly recommend it to anyone wants to enhance the stories and information you have about your treasured photos. I have always been confused about how to proceed with research of my families but this book answers it all.

Creating Your Family Heritage Scrapbook
I received this book for Christmas and have already read several of the chapters... if you are new to genealogy or scrapbooking this is the book for you.My only complaint is that the authors jumped around too much with the lay-out of the book.There are "mini-articles" in the middle of chapters, so you have to skip around to read a chapter.Not a book that you can sit and read from cover to cover comfortably. ...
