full of simple, elegant layouts
I just purchased this book a few days ago and was so engrossed that I read it cover to cover.Lots of clean, simple ideas that don't require tons of specialized equipment (i.e. eyelet setters, brads, pockets, foldouts) but that could certainly be adapted that way, if you like to use those gizmos.I liked that there were both ideas for doing pages/books chronologically, and doing them thematically (i.e. places we've lived, our home town past and present, our family business).It encourages scrapbookers to chronicle their current life for generations to come (very interesting and creative sequence of layouts about one woman's college career and trinkets/papers that are relevant to her life as a current student).Also gave good ideas for how to scrap pages when there is missing information about relatives, embarrassing decades (aaah, how to scrap the '60's, '70's and '80's when so many of us were awkward teens), and "sensitive" topics or details.The one thing I wish this book had, was more information on how to save/restore old and crumbling memorabilia--I was hoping for a lot more details than "use acid-free paper" or "consult a professional conservator".

Great Resource!
As a beginner scrapper, I just loved this book.It has tons of ideas for pages.I really liked all the info that is provided as to where to purchase supplies etc.There are tons of the best websites provided to get just what you need.I also purchased the Creating Keepsakes Tips and Tricks and loved it just as much!

So Many Great Ideas
This book is amazing!! The ONLY problem I have found is that there are so many great ideas that I dont have enough time to do them all!I would suggest this book to anyone that just needs to look at really well done pages but not someone that is just beginning scrapbooking because the book does not come with how to instructions.

Helpful
If you are like most scrapbookers sometimes you need a little help to get inspired or you need something to "scrap-lift".I do not like everyone's layouts.Everyone has different tast and that is why the Hall Of Fame books are great because you get many layouts from many artists.

Want inspiration?Look no further - here it is!This book is filled to the brim with all sorts of techniques and ideas for every scrapbooker.I have purchased quite a few books in search for one that gave me inspiration.Generally they were full of these weird totally-not-me examples that while they looked good were impractical for everyday use.In this book, you get all sides of the creative spectrum.You get the far-out-there looks, to the homely looks, to in-between.You can turn page to page ohh'ing and ahh'ing over the pages but you'll find you wont - you'll bookmark the page and start scrapping immediately.I've had this book for a year and still haven't finished looking through it.It's definetly a keeper and one of my 2 favorite books! ... Use it up, wear it out, make it last, even recycle it
If you are like me, you don't want to start a page until you have the "perfect" supplies. That is usually what keeps me from starting my projects, & then I get further behind.Since I had little time to squeeze in another class, when I saw this book advertised in the scrapbook magazine, I bought it. The layouts used supplies I already had, most of the time, and it caused me to think outside the box as far as my creativity is concerned.A few things, like painting, I probably won't try, but at least I have examples if I decide in the future to try it.

I can use ...what... for my layout?
This was a wonderful, entertaining, and informative book. The author started this book when she realized she had too many supplies and since she almost broke the bank buying more (that she didn't need) she decided to challenge herself. Every scrapbook layout she made, she had to do only with the supplies she had on hand. Im sure this proved difficult, I know when Im scraping a page I'll run right out to the store cause I just NEED a sheet of vellum or something rediculous like that. In this book Erin teaches you to improvise and use other things around your house that you wouldn't normally use. She even goes into instruction of more common scrapbooking techniques as well, so you see there is always something to learn as a beginner or as someone looking to expand their horizons.

Not Their Best
I'm a Memory Makers fan and I tend to like their idea books. This one, however, seemed fairly uninspired to me. Lots of cute pages of cute toddlers doing cute toddler things -- but nothing that really sparked my creativity for scrapping the hundreds of photos that I have of my own cute toddler. Keep returning to this one!
This is always out on a table for me to browse at when I get brain freeze for my page designs. There are alternatives presented to doing "traditional" pages and it covers a majority of things that toddlers are into. Would make any scrapper a great gift.

Some good ideas, but not Memory Makers' best
Well, for as much as I couldn't wait to get a copy of this, I have to admit I was a bit disappointed.Memory Makers' Baby Scrapbooks idea book was great--full of good layout/journaling ideas and beautiful sample layouts to look at.Maybe I'm becoming a scrapbook snob, but the first thing that rubbed me the wrong way was that the majority of the sample layouts just didn't seem up to caliber with what I'm used to seeing in their and Creating Keepsakes magazines.Too much primary colors, simple hand-printed or sticker letter titles, bland papers...I know, it sounds SO pretentious to say that, but I truly am used to seeing different types of pages in the books and magazines I buy.To its credit, Toddler Scrapbooks has a good "Checklists" page to give parents ideas on what to scrapbook that they may not have considered (e.g., funny faces, waking up, daily routines, Sunday school), and on the same page, it mentions that it's a good idea to keep notes on a calendar of: some current favorites(books, songs, etc.), Growth, milestones and firsts...There are also poems, sayings, page title ideas and reproducible patterns at the back of the book which could be useful.Read more

Not your average scrapping book
To fully appreciate this book, you need to be artistic, or at least pretend to be.I was born with minimal talent as an artist, but I have developed my artistic sense as I aged, trying different art forms and expressions to counterbalance my awfully left brained life.Scrapbooking has offered me an artistic outlet like nothing else and this book might help you see what I mean. Scrapbooks in the modern sense can swing, unfortunately, from the maudlin, sappy crap of Middle America to pieces of high art.This book takes you closer to the art scene than the coffee klatsch.The only down sides of this book are:

What a spectacular book! Each page holds something new. There are so many projects that are recreatable, with only a tiny bit of altering to make them your own. A complete book full of eye candy. Eight artists come together to showcase some amazing work that spans between all the creative types. Plain and simple to complex collage. A must have :)

Great ideas
This book inspired me to finally organize my boxes and boxes of pictures. I have three kids, and all of the past 10 years of photos were in file boxes. I hadn't even put my wedding photos from 18 years ago in an album. This book helped me figure out some themes for albums and some completely new ways to embellish and enrich the pages. I even made each daughter her own scrapbook of baby pictures, complete with locks of hair, baby teeth and foot prints. They just love them.

Terrific book--Great addition to any scrapper's bookshelf
Rebecca and Jennifer have taken a lot of the stress out of learning to scrapbook. This book reads as though the two women are sitting next to you and gently guiding you along. Although I'm a seasoned scrapper, I found new ideas and new techniques I want to try. Best of all, the tone of the book was inspiring and helpful, which is exactly what a how to book should be.
