I can't live without this book

My favorite Memory Makers book yet!
Straight from the Memory Makers Masters, who are the annually chosen top 10 scrapbookers for Memory Makers Magazine, comes this technique book from MM.I have found this to be the best one yet, showing progressive designs and to-the-point tips for creating your own pages.I've been happy with their books in the past, but always wished they'd show more of the collage/shabby chic/vintage look that's popular now, and this one has definitely hit the mark!

What a great book!
After reading the other review of this book, I hesitated to buy it. However, my sister recommended it, so I took a chance and I'm so glad I did! I consider myself a knowledgeable paper crafter but I learned several good hints for using punches that I had not heard before on the first few pages I read. I have a drawers full of punches and I used them occasionally but I hadn't realized their potential until I saw this book. There are techniques that show how to turn simple punched shapes into works of art. Almost every sample amazed me with the creativity of the artists. I found the instructions clear and easy to follow, even for someone who can't draw.
for scrappers not punch artists
This book has great photos of scrapbook layouts & the use of punch art in the layout, BUT.. the detail photos of the actual coloring of your punch art are only about the size of a quarter. I bought the book to see how to color my punch art & use it in various applications. The images are so small it makes it difficult to see where color was applied & how. The written descriptions are very brief & deal mostly with laying out the scrapbook page & not with the actual coloring steps used. I was disappointed. I expected more emphasis on the coloring of the punched items. A beter title might have been "Scapbook Layouts with Punch Art". ... Read more

Not my kind of cards
I found the card designs too busy, but my style is more along the lines of Simple Scrapbooks.These cards take longer to make than advertised and a lot of the designs only seem to work with specific patterned paper and lots of fancy/expensive embellishments. I am more simplistic and minimalistic, but this book would probably be great for people with different styles. ... Read more

Not for the novice or experienced scrapbooker
It is a refreshing idea to publish a book highlighting fellow scrapbookers creations - refreshing to see what others like me are coming up with.However, in a practical sense, I would never recommend "200 More Great Scrapbook Layout Ideas" for any scrapbooker, novice or experienced. Neat Book
I bought both books and really like them. The ideas are large and easyto see with a lot of variety. My scrapbooking friends like the books too.It's an IDEA book, not just another magazine full of ads.

A great all around how-to book
I am a scrapbook aficionado and dabbler in artistic expression (ie right brain stuff) to counterpose my life as a science teacher (ie left brain stuff).And I like books- lots of them- including ones on creative enterprises.This is a great book for two main reasons:
Absolutely Delightful for all levels of expertise
I have never been so impressed with a scrapbooking book. This one is fabulous for all levels from the beginner to the scrapbookers that have been doing it for years ... I could go on and on about how much I enjoyed this book and it is ONE THAT I WILL BE THUMBING THROUGH AND READING FOR YEARS TO COME I AM SURE ... I truly don't believe you would be disappointed if you bought it ... it is going in my (soon to be) new scrap room sitting on a very visual shelf so I can grab it whenever I want.

Love it!
I'm a big fan of Lisa's work and this book was outstanding.I love her simple, clean style. In addition to the great scrapbooking tips, you are treated to Lisa's beautiful photography throughout. Her travels make for such interesting pages! I think both the beginner and the advanced scrapper will find much inspiration in this book.

Scrapping with elegence
I loved this book, and not only because I prefer a clean, classic style over a cluttered look anyday.The author has an obvious eye for color coordination and combinations that are a step above most scrappers.Her work inspires me to focus on what really matters:content.I am often distracted, even dismayed, by overuse of embellishments in many popular designs these day.It's refreshing to see someone focusing on what's important and doing it well.If you like to scrapbook, but want to skip all the outlandish embellishments, this is the book for you.Again, I absolutely loved it!

Great for simple scrapbookers without kids
I love this book, and look at it a lot to get ideas. I am using bigger pictures now in my pages and I like the effect. I also really like seeing a scrapbooking book by someone without kids. A lot of scrapbooking focuses on kids growing up, so it's nice to see other page topics, particularly travel photos. I liked her photos a lot because they are like ones I take and scrapbook. Not artsy, close-up portrait shots, but everyday travel and event photos, made more interesting by simple scrapbooking pages. This book isn't for every scrapbooker, but if you like simple pages that focus on the pictures and the story behind them, this might be a book for you. Timeless and elegant

A fantastic addition to your Scrapbook Library
I have always loved Anna Griffin's books and beautiful ephemera for scrapbooking.Her patterns are classic and timeless and make every scrapbook and card look elegant.The paper, rubber stamp and brass stencil patterns are very similar to the pattern fabrics of April Cornell.
NOT your ordinary scrapbook "how-to"
I like it a LOT.It's artsy, messy, and uses bits and pieces of what you have around the house instead of having to go out and spend a fortune on manufactured "memories".

Fun and unique book for all kinds of crafters!
"Memories in Miniature" by Pamela Frye Hauer is so cool, I love it! It's definitely not your typical scrapbooking book. The projects are geared towards "memory crafts", (using photos and mementos), but they could all be adapted to little art pieces and other projects not using photos. The style is really fun and funky and often has a retro/artsy feel to it. The cover doesn't do justice to all the great artwork and ideas inside. This big and colorful book has 4 chapters: Family & Friends, Events & Celebrations, Babies & Children and Home & Holidays; everything is covered in here, and all the projects are really vesatile. Each project in the book is 2 pages, with full color photos including variations, instructions and many have "how-to" photos too. Plus there are dozens and dozens of additional ideas and tips throughout the book!
Great Ideas, and this stuff's so fun to make!
Pamela Frye Hauer's "Memories in Miniature" has the best photo keepsake and gift ideas I've come across in ages!As an international flight attendant, I have traveled the world from one end to the other, and I have stacks of albums with pictures of airplanes, landmarks, and faces from every continent.I considered myself a scrapbooker of sorts, saving train tickets and cocktail napkins to put in my photo albums alongside my snapshots, and making the occasional trip to Michael's to buy suitcase stickers.My friends would peruse the first few pages of my albums before gently closing them and changing the subject.But after a friend of mine turned me on to Pamela's book ("you've got to check out her ideas!"), I compiled some new mini albums, one of travel shots and several of my nieces and nephews, with shots from bris to bat mitvahs, and I can barely keep those albums on the shelf.Now my friends oooooh and aaaah over every page, and when they get to the end, most often they start right over again.Pamela's book is packed with unique ideas and great techniques for making a big deal out of small photos.What I like best about this book is the way she taught me to look at my photos differently, and taught me I can crop the best bits out of what might be a so-so 3x5, and make eye-popping mini memories!The magnets I've made using my very own photos of the Sydney Opera House and the Panama Canal are the showpieces of my kitchen, and my sister-in-law loves the necklace I made for her with my favorite photo of her twins -- her friends are lined up with their own baby pictures begging me to make more!And the fact that she illustrates her ideas with her own memories, using photos of what are obviously her family and friends instead of clip-art landscapes and studio portraits of models, makes even her most elaborate ideas seem achievable.I have already started collecting tidbits I plan to use for my own wedding invitations and favors, and we're not even engaged yet. (fingers crossed!!)I wonder if I could get Pamela Frye Hauer to help me put my wedding album together...You WON'T be disappointed with this fun and original book, and you'll be thrilled with the results you get with your own memories!!

Outstanding
Virtually the only book on embellishing scrapbooks you will ever need.I know, as I have most of them, but it is all here, and in more unusual ways than you ever saw things used.If this craft is your interest, this book is a must.Beg, borrow, buy or steal a copy (but not mine, I need it!).

For beginners who advance in skills quickly
I'm new to scrapbooking, but I've flipped through many, many books (although not magazines). This book contains some of the best styles I've seen: not cheap looking or trendy. There are advance techniques in here, but I think they are explained well and broken down in easy steps. Besides, most people who scrapbook/do crafts are very willing to learn new and interesting techniques. I think this is a book I will refer to for a long time as my skills develop. Time to Get Started
This starts you off at the very beginning.It covers choosing an album, mounting methods, paper/pens, stickers, stamps, heat embossing, punches, and die cuts.It has tips for storing your supplies, journaling and storytelling, decorative lettering, title pages and page layout, cropping, and photo montages.
A great introduction to Scrapbooking!
For someone just getting into Scrapbooking, this is a wonderful book.The pictures are gorgeous, and the authors give a good general introduction to the supplies you will need, and the techniques you will use. a good starting point you'll quickly pass
This book has good advice and very nice illustrations. But it suffers from trying to do too many things and none of them in sufficient depth. I do like the pages shown, but the book doesn't have enough illustrations to be a really useful source of inspiration -- you'd be better off with one of those ``515 Ideas'' or ``200 Layouts'' books or a website. As for its tips on how to use products, all you really need to grasp is that you should use archival materials, and after that you'll learn more in half an hour just browsing through the products at any decent-sized crafts store. My FAVORITE Idea Book of all times!
The BOOK OF US is chocked full of ideas and gorgeous keepsakes! This is an idea book that will never be outdated due to the content of the reading and ideas to promote your own creativity! It goes beyond the "US" of hubby and wife and family which is what I had in mind when I picked it up. This is my FAVORITEST idea book I have!

Shockingly disappointing
This book can be summarized in one very short list:Do layouts of your and your loved ones backgrounds, ideologies, viewpoints, celebrations, love for each other, families, and friends. Really, was that so hard?Oh wait--that wouldn't make money.Ah yes, if we stretch it out into an entire book series and charge a ridiculous amount for it, it may garner attention.
