Not that impressive.
This book has ideas for crafters of all tastes.The projects in this book range anywhere from victorian to country.Although this book doesn't stand-out as a favorite among my collection of craft books, it is wellorganized with nice pictures of all the completed projects. If it wasn'tfor all the clever ideas in the children's chapter (and a few good dessertrecipes too), I probably would not keep this book.

Another Fantastic Gooseberry Patch Cookbook!
"Welcome Home for the Holidays"is another fantastic addition to the "Gooseberry Patch" series of books. This book is full of fantastic cooking tips, fun traditions and holiday memories for everyone. This book is THE BEST!
The many wonderful recipes and decorating ideas in this book have become tradition in our home over the past few years. My children (and even their friends) never let me forget 'Dinner in a Pumpkin'.I have alsogiven this book as a gift several times to my children's teachers. Yummy Yumm Yummy for the Tummy Tumm Tummy!
Oh we've been using these recipies for years now!The Elves can't get enough of them.And Santa, well, I think you know how HE feels about cookies!Why not bake some of the special treats in this book with your little ones, and leave a warm plate out for Santa Claus - with a cold glass of milk - on Christmas Eve! I happen to know for a fact he loves every cookie in this whole entire book! Who knows, maybe he'll leave you a little something extra if you make the ones with the vanilla frosting and sprinkles he likes so much!

A Book with Cookie Recipes and Great Ideas for Kids!!!
I bought this book November 1998 when my youngest daughter at the time was in the 4th grade and had a school project to do. So I took her to the book store looking through children's books for ideas and a project she could do. With all the books of ideas we found this is the book we chose and it caught my eye because it was up front of the store with all the Christmas displays and because the book had the words "Family & Kids" on it.As soon as we saw the "Holiday Garland" on page 22, that was what she wanted to do. Not too impressed
I found that the cookies in this book that are actually fun and creative, are by far outnumbered by the usual, standard recipes that can be found in any cookie book.Read more

The only book you will need
I have used this book time and time again, and not only for Christmas.The recipes are accurate, easy and great.The color photos really show how the recipes should look and they will!I have made more that a dozen different types of cookies from this book and each one was good if not great.The only problem I have with this book is that the ingredients are written into the directions.This makes it a little more time consuming when you are trying to get your recipes ready before the actual assemble and baking process.A minor set back for a really great book.

Holiday cookies that look great and taste good!
I've used this cookie book when making holiday cookies for family and friends for the last several years, and the results have always been a huge hit.Too often Christmas cookies look great but taste terrible - not something to worry about with this book.I particularly recommend the Cranberry-Cherry Pinwheels.They are delicious and surprisingly easy to prepare.However, be forwarned that most of the recipes in this book are also found in the new Joy of Cooking.Joy is great and much more comprehensive.I'd recommend taking a look at it before buying this book.

Camille Glenn's book of old fashioned Christmas recipes is a pure delight.Not only are the recipes clear, easy to read and tasty when prepared, butthe format is "cook friendly" and easy to follow. Lovely, Natural Christmas Decorations
I've used this book over and over to decorate my home at Christmas with Southern style arrangements.Demonstrating these techniques for garden clubs and at libraries, I always found a ready audience for this and it was really easy. I learned it all from this book.

Traditional Christmas is Wonderful
This is one of the best Christmas books I have ever found.There is a second one called Traditional Christmas Two that is also very good. They have everything from decoration crafts and ideas to gifts that you can make to recipies for those holiday meals and intertaining.I had both books and lost them in a move and did not rest until I managed to replace them.They are great!

excellent variety, something for everyone
I love this book.It has something for everybody. Even people who don't think of themselves as crafty will enjoy this book. And there are so many fun things in it that I have found something that I didn't notice beforeeverytime I look through the book.And it has different skill levels too. There are projects you can do with the kids, or if you are ambitious, thereare detailed christmas villages you can make.Even the recipes for holidaycooking are fun and easy.If you want a good all inclusive book for theholidays this is the one.Another book I would recommend for the holidaysis "Old-Fashioned Christmas Favorites".It has great traditionsand recipes that are old time favorites that may have been forgotten.

Ideas Galore
I just ordered this book after finding it in my local library. As with all Gooseberry Patch books I have found many ideas for crafts and recipes. I plan on adapting the wreath on the cover for part of my holiday decor and the marshmallows dipped in chocolate and stuck on a peppermint stick will be made and shared with co-workers and friends. You really cannot go wrong with these charming books and I enjoy looking through them again and again.

Good Recipes....Would be better with fewer Crafts....
I'm a big fan of the Gooseberry Patch Cookbook series. Particularly the large spiral bound versions, but the'Christmas' series produced by Leisure Arts is a little hit or miss for me- Mostly because I prefer recipes instead of crafts, and Christmas has over 80+ pages of crafts and about 40+ pages of recipes.
