Creative Scarecrows:35 Fun Figures for Your Yard & Garden
This book inspired me to create a scarecrow for my backyard in San Francisco. My sons and I had a ball recycling junk to make our Garden Goddess. I thought this book had fantastic seasonal ideas. The Pumpkin Shepherd is adorable for fall. My sons can hardly wait to create the White Rabbit in the spring and what a great way to recycle all those white plastic bags. What an excellent family activity. My other favorites are the One Man Band made with an old chair and tomatoe cage and the Junction City Jug Band with plastic milk jugs for heads. What an inspirational and creative way to take items that are considered junk and turn them into something magical. The illustrations are really well done. Thanks for writing this book! This is a thorough overview of lighting techniques, system design and the variety of lamps and lampholders used in both line voltage and low voltage outdoor lighting. Slim pickin's
This book had few ideas, none of them noteworthy. I have been trying to find good infomation on landscaping and garden design and found this worthless.

Helpful book!
This book is very much like something Martha Stewert would put out. I liked that fact, being I'm a big fan of hers I just had to get this book. This book will help you out so much with your decorating problems. For example if your can't figure out how to set up your backyard for a wedding or a party this book will give you lots of helpful tips. When is part two of hot plants for cool climates comming out?
This bood is exactly what I was looking for.What plant to use to create the �tropical� look for cold country as far as Qu�bec.Great tips, even for a long time gardener as I am, I have fund lots of plants that I did'nt know we could over wintered in cold storage. I really hope that they would be a part II of the same book, which will illustrated some nordic landscaping with a exotic look, using the plant showing in this book.Thank's again
Do You Crave a Lush Landscape?
I've always admired the gorgeous plants and lush landscaping that one could do in the tropics.This book tells you how to do that without moving to Florida.The authors have good credentials for a book of this type.

Trellises and Arbors
Really pretty pictures, nice recommendations of possible plants to grow up the trellises, etc., but unless your a master carpenter, or able to use pictures, you'll never build any of them!!There's no diagrams or plans in the entire book!!

Excellent photos and ideas!
I really enjoyed this book, being my first Sunset guide to gardening. With all of the excellent photos and drawings it gives you plenty of ideas for building outdoor structures. Granted, it is a short book and you won't be an expert after reading it, but it gives you plenty of information to get started with building beautiful garden trellises and arbors.

Nice projects for the beginner/intermediate woodworker
I bought this book a while ago for the plans to the swing that is shown on the book cover.I built the swing out of cypress and hung it from our porch with nylon rope; it came our really nice.The book begins with a brief discussion of types of wood, fasteners, glue, hardware and tools.The instructions are given in clear step-by-step sequence, which reference exploded diagrams of the finished product.There is a materials list for each project, which really helps when shopping for the parts.
