5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic resource for a good Polish-American wedding!
I bought a copy of this title when my sister got married in 2002 and she was thrilled to have it.Mrs. Knab deftly sorts through centuries of the various matrimonial customs found in Poland's different geographical regions and presents them in a manner which allows the reader to easily appreciate them all.Especially helpful (if one is planning/helping to plan a Polish-American wedding) are her "Touch of the Past" chapter endings in which the author recommends ways to make some of the seemingly useless or insignificant "Olde World" customs a part of a contemporary wedding for Americans of Polish (and proud, at that!) descent. It's only a pity this title's gone out of print; hopefully a paperbound edition will make its way to printing at some point in the future! Thanks, Mrs. Knab!!! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A helpful guide
This was one of the first books I purchased when I got engaged. I found it informative but at the same time, a bit too formal, leaning towards 'high-society. Despite the formal tone of the book, it gave me the answers to the many wedding-related questions I had (especially the ones about invitation wording).

1-0 out of 5 stars Wedding Etiquette

5-0 out of 5 stars A must-read for any type of wedding!
This book was filled with lots of helpful information as well as ideas to some of the most common and unusual situtations. It posed lots of questions with answers, that I hadn't even thought of.If you are abride-to-be who really doesn't know a lot about modern day etiquette (andeven if you do), I highly reccommend this book!

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy-to-read, very imformative
Looked at several bridal etiquette books, these has an easy to read format.Questions posed to the editor are grouped by sensible subject titles (not some off-the-wall description).Seemed to address contemporary societal issues and conventions, while offering description of what have been conventional traditional practices.Good list of secondary resources concerning engagement rings, bridal gowns, attendant attire, and groomsmen formalwear.Directly addressed many of the questions I had in mind when looking for this type of ettiquette guide!! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Rude and Stress inducing!
The purpose of this book doesn't seem to be to give helpful hints to make guests feel more at ease, which I thought was the whole point of etiquette, it seems to be to ridicule and belittle anyone whos taste isn 't the same as the author. Apparently it's OK to have your mother as your maid of honor, but heaven forbid anyone wear a tuxedo to a 4 PM wedding.
2-0 out of 5 stars Humorous, but slightly disappointed
I was given this book as a gift and read it in two sittings (its a quick read). While I like the "snippet" style of writing, I found the book annoying. Many of the etiquette topics were repeated not once, but two or three times (i.e. how to approach the "no kids" policy and gift registry manners) which left me wishing for a wider breadth of issues to review and/or wacky wedding stories to read. 5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Indispensable (Sense of Humor Required)
Believe it or not, this was the most valuable guide I had when planning my wedding 3 years ago. Through the use of hysterical anecdotes, this book doesn't tell you what to do, but more what NOT to do. Ever. If you're looking for some comic relief from pre-wedding stress and weren't sure if it's appropriate to charge admission to your reception, this is the book for you. I guarantee that "Bridezilla" will become part of your permanent wedding vocabulary. ... Read more
